colonel Posted October 27, 2015 Share #1961 Posted October 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I confused global with rolling shutter, didn't I. Thanks for the correction. If gear forum geeks had a sense of humor there could be a ton of humor in this mix up failing that how about a photography joke: "Q. What's the best way to make money in photography? A. Sell all your gear."

mmradman Posted October 27, 2015 Share #1963 Posted October 27, 2015 Sell all your gear with a profit, you mean. A friend of mine is a real crack in it. No, it is like this one; Q. How to make a small fortune? A. Start with a big one.
colonel Posted October 27, 2015 Share #1964 Posted October 27, 2015 How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that!"
rodluvan Posted October 28, 2015 Share #1965 Posted October 28, 2015 the same resoucre which told me about Q and its digital crop from 28 to 35 and 50 that's some innovation however, using photoshop I can make the Q have a seamless zoom going from 28-2000+ mm, and if we include stitching 12-2000mm it's embarrassing even mentioning digital crop-modes
rodluvan Posted October 28, 2015 Share #1966 Posted October 28, 2015 Not even close. An M purist shoots film only with an M body and M lenses. You are an M purist once removed. me then, but I only accept non metering bodies (i.e. 100% mechanical)

fotografr Posted October 29, 2015 Share #1968 Posted October 29, 2015 It is all interesting to read what people want and don't want in a new M. The question is what makes the M unique? For me, a totally manual simple yet superior camera is a joy to use. I want a camera that forces me to "think". Add all these 'features' ..... Starting to lose it for me. The 'range finder' should be a keeper always, even if it's in electronic form. Keeping it portable and discreet, an absolute must! Yes, yes, yes! Amen, sister! likealot Posted October 30, 2015 Share #1971 Posted October 30, 2015 The funny thing is that most of it talks about SL.
mjh Posted October 30, 2015 Share #1972 Posted October 30, 2015 The funny thing is that most of it talks about SL. What do you do with a thread about a new M this fall when there is no new M this fall? Might just as well talk about something else.
Jeff S Posted October 30, 2015 Share #1973 Posted October 30, 2015 Or close the thread. There are various other discussions related to a future M. Jeff

Paulus Posted October 30, 2015 Share #1977 Posted October 30, 2015 So many things to buy: tried a Q a few weeks back. Nice, but...no. The SL? Would love to try it, but ....no. New M in fall. Would be lovely but I think the fall will be very late this year. Gives me plenty of time to save for the new M body. But.... could Leica please make it with a safire screen the first time and not wait untill the M-P version.

Winedemonium Posted October 31, 2015 Share #1980 Posted October 31, 2015 I look forward to the new M. But as a rangefinder camera, there is little to dislike in the M240. A few days ago I met a very talented photographer, and his heavily brassed-up M8. This is not the brassing that comes from careful application of sandpaper, but from - what he told me was - over 370,000 actuations. Mounted to it? A collapsible 3.5/35 Elmar. His work is pretty impressive - Reminded me, as I looked at my fairly clean looking M240, that this hobby is not about buying gear. Nonetheless, I look forward to the new M....
