I like standardising things, so taking E39 filter (for monochrome photography) as a reference I would love to add Elmarit 28 ASPH and Macro Elmar 90 to supplement my APO Summicron 50mm as lightweight travel kit otherwise have them all mostly fast 21-90 in M range.

I am happy with what I have (35/50/90). I mostly use 35 and 50 mm,however sometimes I can`t decide wether to go with 35 or 50 mm. I think I love 50mm lenses. The M?? sings with 35 mm. My approach is to get acustomed to one single lens. That makes life a lot easier.

I have been wanting a lens for Macro work with my 240.

I am curious, using the current Macro Ring, are any of the 3 current 90mm M lens offerings more suitable for macro work over the others, assuming price is not an object or is there some advantage to 1 of them for macro work?

It would be interesting to see the demographics, in particular how many desire the 'new' generation of Leica lenses cross-referenced to their ages and experience.

That is all that needs to be asked.

I'm sure that Leica would want to know the same, if they do not already.

My most modern lens is quite a bit older than I am. I have no idea what that means though. I do like the older designs, but also can't justify the modern prices. I just wouldn't buy an $8000 lens.

Next to none now. I have tried dozen or two Leitz and Cosina made. It was interesting.  But I'm not paid photog and my adventures, travels are not covered by local insurance policies. If lens is above 1K USD new, I'm out. My Summarit-M 35 2.5 was slightly above 1K USD for new. Best M lens I ever have, so I'm keeping it and use it a lot. At some point I would like to get 90/4 Elmar again and Summaron 35 3.5 for my IIIc. For no practical reason :)

I want the 21 SEM and the 90 f/4 macro--either version, but of course v. 2 if possible. Along with a couple of M and R longs,  I have the 35 FLE and just bought a nicely used 50 Lux ASPH. They are probably too close in focal range, but couldn't resist. I guess I ought to swap the FLE for the SEM and most of the 90....
