Thanks, Brent! I am still using AF and I was not aware the the focus assistant works also with AF. I had the impression it was only for MF?.... If it does also work with AF, then I think it would be a great help!

I am also using the focus tracking! But it only works with half shutter pressed! I wish it could also work with AF/AE button like the previous DLux cameras.... I find that very useful; but I don't like to focus with the shutter button!

Beautiful, Louis. I'm curious if you turn off the focus assist light for situations like this. I imagine you do because the light would ruin the moment.

Brent, sorry, I misunderstood your question and my response was not right!

To be honest, I am not checking the focus light on this camera.... yet!.... On my DSLR, I cannot live without it since I love to use manual lenses.... With my other Dlux cameras, I did not pay too much attention to this function since I am used to not take too much time to take a shot! It was not easy to look at everything when composing on LCD!.... Now that you mentioned, maybe I should consider this function more seriously! :)

Actually, I would be inclined to turn it off in these situations. It's an infra red light that is clearly visible to everyone in the area in a dark room, especially the person you have the camera pointed at.
