MarkP Posted May 22, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2014 A camera, most likely without a lightmeter,.That should reduce it´s price considerably ... Best GEORG Yeah, sure.

luigi bertolotti Posted May 22, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2014 Is it in relation with the Westlicht Auction to be held in Wetzlar ? The item #100 of the catalogue is a "mystery item"... related to 100 years of Leica... base price 22Keuro but with a bid of 24K (this, before MY bid... :p) Very nice, anyway... who knows how is the finder ? 0,91 or 0,85 ? Fine to see the good old frame selector lever...
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted May 22, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 22, 2014 If they REALLY lover their traditional customer base they would sell 100 pieces of this beauty at EUR 2,000 or 3,000 each. Without a lens of course. But it´s more likely it will be EUR 10,000 ... Best GEORG
jip Posted May 22, 2014 Share #10 Posted May 22, 2014 So it's a MP without light meter? Sounds cheaper to me... but probably isn't.

Jeff S Posted May 22, 2014 Share #13 Posted May 22, 2014 Also seems to pave the way for an eventual M-P. If so, the only thing separating film and digital would be a simple hyphen. Jeff
Stealth3kpl Posted May 22, 2014 Share #14 Posted May 22, 2014 I wonder if this has the new focusing mechanics of the "M". Pete

Fine to see the good old frame selector lever... I answer to myself... have just received an email from Westlicht... As the first Leica special edition of its kind, the Leica M Edition 100 brings together a purely mechanical rangefinder camera for film photography – the LEICA M-A – with a digital Leica M (LEICA M MONOCHROM) in one set. The combination of these two cameras is unique. Its symbolic character as an homage to the beginnings of Leica 35 mm photography and, in particular, to black-and-white photography makes the centennial edition truly special. This applies, above all, to its high-quality construction and finish: for the first time ever, both Leica cameras and the lenses in this set are made from solid stainless steel. Both cameras stand as symbols for the origins of Leica photography and the present day. The Leica M-A, with technical specifications based on the currently available Leica MP film camera, is a direct descendent of the Ur-Leica. Alternatively, the second camera, a Leica M Monochrom, is the contemporary variation of the theme composed a century ago by Oskar Barnack. The set also includes THREE SUMMILUX-M LENSES with focal lengths of 28, 35 and 50 mm. Renowned for their combination of extremely compact size, speed and exceptional imaging quality, they ideally reflect the characteristic performance criteria with which Leica lenses contributed to the establishment of the brand as a legend. 101 kits made ... the picture within the mail isn't so clear... but it seems indeed that the wider WA isn't neither a 21 nor a 24... so maybe the "28" I evidenced is NOT a typo...
