jaapv Posted April 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2014 I like it very much, it has a 1950-ies feel about it somehow.
250swb Posted April 21, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted April 21, 2014 Thank you Jaap. It was at a 1940's event on Sunday and the young lady was sitting in the back of a vintage Rolls Royce reading an old wartime newspaper. I thought that was the picture with her engrossed in the paper. But as I kneeled down to get the right angle she looked up. First shot was ruined by the reflection of people walking behind me, this one, the second of the two was OK. I don't like labouring things so that was it. Very little pp was done, just Silver Efex for the duotone toning and general contrast adjustments. But in the colour version the aged orange colour of the old newspaper was reflecting on her face making it look a bit blotchy, which it wasn't, and this transferred to the B&W image, so I also used the Ilford FP4 preset which lightened and smoothed her skin back to how it looked in real life, and also it added just a hint of grain to remove the clinical digital look. fotografr Posted April 21, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Beautiful. This couldn't have been set up any better if a film crew had done it. I thought for sure I was looking at something taken in the 1940s. I even like the reflections on the glass.
