rcusick Posted October 25, 2022 Share #481 Posted October 25, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I took a 28 cron alone. I probably would take 35 cron as only lens next time. 35mm remains my favorite for one lens choice.
Advertisement Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 Hi rcusick, Take a look here Two lens kit travel combo. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dscdsc Posted October 27, 2022 Share #482 Posted October 27, 2022 I recently took the 35 lux and 50 lux + M11 on a 10 day trip. It was a good setup as far as focal lengths go but I really wished I had a small lens option. I think I'll take the 35 cron + 50 lux the next trip. I've never looked for them from RCA; impressive.
Pierre68 Posted November 22, 2023 Share #484 Posted November 22, 2023 For me it has been MATE + 35 lux for some times. Lately I have been thinking about 24mm f/3.8 + 50 lux
a.noctilux Posted November 22, 2023 Share #485 Posted November 22, 2023 Strange thing, last month travel, the MATE was used often, I carried also 21mm and 90mm, these are the less used lenses often rested at room hotel. I'm jealous of my wife who only used the Summarit-M 2.5/50 for more than one month.

The M11 is an interchangeable lens camera IMHO for reasons other than to decide which is the focal length to stick to.. I agree entirely with this. However, I am just returning from 6 weeks, Paris, Normandy, Rome & Florence and I took one camera and one lens (30mm equivalent field of view), primarily as I have only one lens for this camera. Not thinking about gear, and using what I had was liberating, and the lens choice was perfect for that trip. I also developed a clear visualisation of the coverage of that lens. But, to take your point, if I’d taken an M camera, it would definitely have been a 28 (probably the Summilux) and a 50 (also a Summilux ASPH or the APO Summicron). I would have liked to have taken an M-A and 35 Summilux pre-asph with me, but traveling internationally with film just isn’t worth it.
Dennis Posted November 24, 2023 Share #487 Posted November 24, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am not sure when I posted in this thread, but I can tell you that recently, I took a few times two 35s: the Summicron v5 and the CV 1.2 III ... With time, I believe more and more than I always enjoy 100% shooting with my M10 with a 35mm... The other focal lengths are great (28 and 50), but they're not the same. . Hurra for 35mm

During a multi-state road trip, with my then-teen nephew, in 2015, shortly I had acquired 14-24mm and 24-70mm “pro” zoom lenses, I used the 24-70mm for almost everything, and tended to use it at 31mm or 32mm, unless I was trying to frame my nephew, in a specific way. As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! I’ve been using this setup lately: M10, 28 Summaron reissue, 50 Elmar-M. If my ISO gets too high, I just use Lightroom’s Denoise feature when I get home. The whole setup is jacket-pocketable and the images look great!
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Bear Posted November 24, 2023 Share #491 Posted November 24, 2023 I have a two week trip to Japan starting next week. Was originally going to bring VM 15mm, 35 cron pre-asph v3, and a lux 50 asph II. But I'm really trying to push myself to cut out the 50 and hopefully get by with the 35 primarily especially given how dense and compact I expect the cityscapes to be. pgk Posted November 24, 2023 Share #492 Posted November 24, 2023 Worth considering and, for Leica, relatively lower cost than many combinations:
kivis Posted December 18, 2023 Share #493 Posted December 18, 2023 My usual two lens kit is the CV 35mm f1.5 Nokton and the LEICA 90mm f/2.8 TELE-ELMARIT-M but I am so smitten with my 50mm f2 Summicron-M, I am returning to my one lens kit.
IkarusJohn Posted December 19, 2023 Share #494 Posted December 19, 2023 I seem to recall @Rick walking about with one lens on the camera (35mm ?) and another in the pocket of his shorts. What are you using now, Rick?

I use a 50mm M-Summicron on my SL2-S. It is possibly my favourite lens in almost 50 years of taking photographs. I often pair it with a 24mm. If I still used an M, and to answer the OP, I would simply add a 28mm Elmarit. As it is, I’m with you on the 50 M-Summicron; if I had only one lens, that would be it. I think it’s one of the best lenses ever made.

I actually use the 24 f/3.8 and 50 Lux Asph on 2 M10R and this combo can face pretty much everything
