I'm always a model or two behind because I'm on a budget, so I just moved from M9 to M240 6 months ago. I'm loving the Live View option. Lovely big LCD. The superior high ISO performance is a really big deal to me and the main reason I moved to the M240. Other little things that I've noticed include - fewer moire issue than the M9; less likelihood of a fingerprint smeared viewfinder than either the M6 or M9; spirit level is handy; ability to occasionally use ELV very useful; great battery life; nice colour rendition. Only negatives are -  movie function for me is redundant; I miss the lens preview lever; slowish startup; It's a bit heavy (but I've become used to it). All in all It's wonderful!

The movie function wouldn’t be redundant if you used it. It’s unlikely that at all moments in your life you would stick to the pointless opinion “I don’t want to record a movie clip”.

True. One day I might actually press that button!

Snap Happy, maybe you are not alone finding "movie function (for me) is redundant", one reason Leica offered for a while M(typ 262).

I use the two models : in M262 again, "less noise", "less weight"...

Movie function isn't offered on the M10 either, is it? When the M240 first came out Leica offered a loan program in exchange for user feedback. Pretty much everything I asked for is offered in the M10!! I'm several years away from getting one of those though.

I really must revive this page, because the M  is stil a great camera, to see and to work with. Even in this days together with my M 10 It's hard to believe I'm working with a 6 year old digital camera.

Yeah sure. That's what we all said.

50yrs acquiring eventually led to currently 20 M mount lenses... mostly used but perfect

They all have a purpose and are used.  A few are duplicates that needed picking up due irresistible prices & condition - like a virtually brand new Summi 2.0 50mm Ver 4 for $750. a few yrs ago from a small town shop.

I love that camera body - one the best looking M-bodies (just competing with Safari)! :)

I also think the summarit lenses are greatly under appreciated. I love the lenses. Great quality and perfect sizes!
