jdlaing Posted January 25, 2014 Share #401 Posted January 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Never seen a photoshop that is closed on Saturdays except Lars Netopil in Wetzlar and Red Dot in London. Here in Middle Europe they would make biggest business on saturdays in cities! 'normal people' so not the retired like most of Leica owners have to work between Monday and Friday, so that leaves only the saturday for camera shopping! But in 2014 we can expect a Leica Boutique within the premisses of Leica in Wetzlar. Curious to find out what their stocks will be:D:D John BH Photovideo, one of the world's largest, is closed Saturdays.
Advertisement Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Hi jdlaing, Take a look here waiting for the R to M adapter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wlaidlaw Posted January 25, 2014 Share #402 Posted January 25, 2014 BH Photovideo, one of the world's largest, is closed Saturdays. Are not they open on Sundays? When I first came to live London in the 1960’s, it was in the strongly jewish area of Willesden Green. Most of the privately owned shops were closed on Saturday but open on Sunday, for which they had a special religious dispensation from the council, to waive the Sunday trading laws. k-hawinkler Posted January 29, 2014 Share #404 Posted January 29, 2014 According to the major Leica dealer I ordered my adapter from they have not received a single Leica R to M adapter yet. Frankly, that boggles the mind! Josh Lehrer just informed that he will ship my Leica R Adapter M tomorrow. I will use it with Novoflex M to E and M to MFT adapters on my Sony and Olympus cameras. And maybe with a future M360? This is my post # 7777 + 1 = 7778.
algrove Posted January 29, 2014 Share #405 Posted January 29, 2014 K-H I am surprised Josh did not convince you to get the M. Maybe they are feeling the A7 effect too. I hear they have silver M240's in stock, but cannot get blacks for one month. It will not be long before most stores will have either camera on the shelf. You will like the adapter. Any new info on the a7r vibration issues? I just wonder if the a7 would have been the way to go.

Bill W Posted February 7, 2014 Share #407 Posted February 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) BH Photovideo, one of the world's largest, is closed Saturdays. They even close Saturday online shopping till around 5:00 Eastern time I believe. I guess they do so much online business it is not easy to keep up if they are open online. All in all a very interesting store to just go visit if you are in NY

satijntje Posted February 8, 2014 Share #414 Posted February 8, 2014 Hi, last week a new Facebook group has been opened for Leica R lenses and the M240 combo. There are nearly 40 members now, but it would help if also some expertise from the Leica R forum posters could be added. https://www.facebook.com/groups/413942815417315/ So if you are on Facebook, just join the group, the members greatly appreciate your experience, as a significant number of M240 owners that have bought R lenses do not have past experiences with these beautiful lenses. marknorton Posted February 8, 2014 Share #415 Posted February 8, 2014 It beggars belief that, 17 months on from announcement, this is still not freely available.I want to buy a second one (no chance) to have one with and without the tripod mount because fitting it is not the work of a moment and only some of the lenses I have will benefit from it. hamey Posted February 8, 2014 Share #417 Posted February 8, 2014 Last week I had the opportunity to play with the R to M adapter and I must say I was very impressed. For those who are thinking of buying it it's worth it, beautifully made. I nearly bought it for the sake of it, but not owning a Leica M -240 I wouldn't get to use it with my R lenses. So best to leave it for someone who can get more use out of it. Congrutulations Leica on a fine product. Ken.

What are others experiences with an R zoom on their M. The zoom would be a macro version. Bill I very much like the 28-90. The 35-70/4 has a macro button, but I like the 28-90 more, even without macro. To me the best long zoom is the 70-180 because it is an APO.
ironringer Posted February 9, 2014 Share #419 Posted February 9, 2014 I got mine begining of this week. First one in Vancouver, I believe. Within a week of a year from getting my camera. Strange delay. Henning For a new observer of this thread, what is the price, in Canada and elsewhere, of these apparently slow-to-arrive and rare R to M240 adapters?
