A nice still Sunday morning, with a decent amount of dew.

Roses are getting close to finished.

X-Vario @ 70mm.

Had the Leicaflex out for some "flower and natures pics" yesterday, of course the X-Vario went along.

It will be interesting to see what the film looks like compared.

Excellent quality image Gary … and likely that many of those who criticised the XV at launch would not have a clue as to how to compose such a shot or realise that the XV's lens is more than capable of coping with such a subject.

Thank you gentlemen, sincerely.

Two real reasons, one we have a few flowers in the garden even though winter is approaching. This was helped by a decent cloudy/bright day, little wind.

Main reason though is the camera itself, it just works. Usually I use the AF setting, as I am simply walking about, point it here, point it there. If I use the tripod (sometimes but not often) then I use M/F.

Dunk, you are correct, there was a heap of hogwash about when the camera was launched, "Mini-M" didn't help, and the general groundswell was negative, especially with the lens being "too slow".

Yep, compared to the f2.8 monsters out there is is a tad slow, but it works, and it works well. I'm constantly amazed at the images that flow from this camera on this form, there are some exceptional picture takers, and the results show.

I'll live with the "quirks" and every time I use it, it never ceases to amaze.

Today with rain forecast, my wife and I did a quick trip to a local area, where many years ago there had been quite a town. Now all gone.

I shot film with the MP and SWC, while the X-Vario got the treatment from my wife, usually a Fuji X10 user.

A quick couple from today, showing the camera even when set to completely auto still performs.

And a bit of the many pieces of discarded relic machinery.

Mono conversion within PhotoShop, not my preferred option.
