Thought up a torture test to continue my explorations into reduced grain films. Use a half-frame camera, which will double the size of any grain, and rate the XP2 at 1600 for extra cruelty. Turned out OK, and I had such fun using the Pen F that I've decided I must do it a lot more often. Naturally, half-frame means triptych time, and I decided to include myself in each frame. I suppose I could have changed clothes for each so I'd look like triplets rather than just the same boring old fart!

Fantastic. Never boring! I can't comment on the flatulence. Though I will say that one of the great discoveries of teaching via zoom is: they may be able to see me, but they can't smell me!

Wonderful portrait!

Was that when she was in high school? She went to the same school as my wife, though a "few years" apart. 😀

One day I was in the Princeton University student union when she walked in, and my sightline was of a male undergrad nearly dropping his tray when he saw her. Herodotus has a story about how the Athenians dressed up a young beauty as Athena, and the Athenians believed it. I thought of that.

Another time, she was biking down Nassau Street, and my wife and I were pushing our (then) two children in a stroller. She stopped to smile and acknowledge us. Made our day.

This is the best triptych in this thread, ever! Made my day!

Yes she was about 17 I believe, having just finished "Endless Love" which had garnered an "X" rating, strangely. She was in provocative movies but still not widely famous, though of course her mother was making sure she was visible in all the right ways. She was good at what she did, and knew how to project herself very well indeed.

Thanks all for the positive responses!

In my minds eye I see this lovely series from Lewis carefully arrayed in an elegant exhibition space with absorbed visitors.

Love this considered composition, a simple image perhaps but one that invites contemplation and which lingers in the mind long after viewing.

Have a little laugh at my expense. I have a pair of OM2n cameras, and they are used far less often than they ought. I played with one the other day and realised that the wind-on knob was turning as I cocked and released the shutter. There was a film inside! So I rewound the film and discovered it was one of the now unavailable Chinese knock-offs of XP2 Super. I had twiddled the film speed/compensation knob during my fondles, so I assumed any exposed frames had been exposed at 400. As Diafine essentially costs me nothing per film, I chose to develop whatever was there that way. I know I used the camera in late summer 2017 during a visit to Fortress Louisberg, and the photos evidently were taken in cold weather but not with snow. Let's say late 2017. The first two made a perfect diptych comment on mammalian behaviour:

Beavers and people, are they so different?

The camera now has a 36 exp roll of Plus-X in, which I shall expose at EI400 as I know that combination turns out beautifully in Diafine.

I have just gotten back a roll of Agfa CT 100 Precisa I exposed during our last vacation at Hallstatt lake in Austria. I have to warn you, though - I am totally struck by the wonderful colors this slide film emulsion shows with sunny autumnal scenes. I might show more colorful pictures than appropriate, so give me a sign if I it might become too much :)
