Adox CHS 100 II. Nothing really bad about this film (just as well as there are 16 more rolls in the freezer). Sometimes a bit grainier than expected for the ISO, but that's probably exposure related as some are very smooth, the PET base is too tough for the guillotine in my Rondinax (even after I sharpened the blade!), and worst of all, it doesn't seem to be a slightly faster version of Adox's old CHS 25. FP4+, Fomapan, Rollei, Agfa, Kentmere are all cheaper, but I'd still recommend trying it out, as the reborn Adox company deserves to be supported so that it might succeed. I'd be very excited if Mirko Böddecker got to make his dream film - a CIBACHROME reversal film.

Anyway, here's another:

Today I got something more adventurous from an experimental emulsion - Film Washi A - ISO 12 film. I followed the development guide lines provided by the manufacturer - I should have given the film much more exposure, though. The film came out my Rodinal soup almost clear with only a minority of exposures as I would expect them. After scanning, automatic adjustments in Lightroom, spot removal in Photoshop and final treatment a "picture" came to life on my screen. I quite like the overall mood in my final work:

I've have a roll or two of this...so you think an ISO of 6 would be better?

If I had another roll I would at least try it with a stop more. You will get the high contrast anyway, as the emulsion was exactly made for a high contrast scenario, as it was used for the title screens for the movies. A very special kind of emulsion, that needs a special kind of attention. I forgot about this when I exposed this roll. Here is a picture that has a better balanced exposure, imho:

And I used to think I was nuts using Ilford Multigrade paper at ISO 3 for paper negatives in the 10x8! Just this afternoon I loaded a dozen cassettes with bulk Rollei Retro 80S, then decided to see which of my developers to use. Came across someone rating it ISO 3-6 with an IR filter. Also, came across one of our illustrious members who has used it in Diafine (in a repeat of last week's search for Pan F in Diafine!). Thanks, Philip, for leading the way!
