Paolo.Battista Posted May 29, 2013 Share #821  Posted May 29, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) A question - if the French photo is a genuine Leica release, and not a photoshopped fake produced for entertainment and to watch us all throw our toys out of the cot, why is it such a crappy picture? Leica doesn't normally do such low res, sepia fundamentally awful pictures for its releases, does it?  Many forum members think about a fake. FF with fixed lens is one of the better bets in my opinion.

luigi bertolotti Posted May 29, 2013 Share #823 Â Posted May 29, 2013 Thank you Luigi for giving me a task for the last 40 minutes. Without accomplishments .Dad considered me a failure in high-school, me opting for English and French instead of Latin and Greek. ("If you only cared to find out with some determination how many of your clumsily put questions have been answered more than 2000 years ago") So could you please help me? Two online translators, a fat book and two thin ones could not. lct Posted May 29, 2013 Share #824 Â Posted May 29, 2013 ...I do regard the M240 as being the first, and so far only, full-frame mirrorless system camera... This way M means mirrorless and not rangefinder any more. No wonder why we have a "mini M" having nothing to do with a rangefinder if Leica share this view. Not an end-of-life announcement for the rangefinder hopefully.

colonel Posted May 29, 2013 Share #826 Â Posted May 29, 2013 if it is a zoom X APS-C sensor it would be a very interesting camera IMHO Â The only opposition would be the Canon G1x and it has a slightly smaller sensor and very slow focus and would be larger then the new Leica. A pocket size APS-C zoom with very high quality is something I have been looking for. Â If its all a fake, which it probably is, then we will see what we shall see on June 11th. 250swb Posted May 29, 2013 Share #830 Â Posted May 29, 2013 At the moment the 'Mini M' seems to be taking the 'best' from current ideas and from other manufacturers. But why, oh why, can't Leica get far ahead of the game with these things aimed at competing with Ricoh or Sony, or... well there are a lot. Just for once make it a defining camera, rather than the one year late 'Leica option'. Â Steve

Guest willjanurgucken2000 Posted May 29, 2013 Share #834  Posted May 29, 2013 Thats a bit harsh..................you forgot Fuji! It more that digital is such an ever and fast changing technology I dont mind investing in Leica lenses, it something that I have built over a long period and all have retained their value but I wont invest 8 grand in a camera that will be near worthless in a few years and outdated even by the time it hits the shelves.  I am already invested in M lenses and don't particularly want to exchange them.  Many anticipate a fullframe SONY camera, while Ricoh have already demonstrated interest in the M mount GXR.  The Fuji XPro has a 2.5mm AA filter over the front of the sensor, which means it doesn't play as nice with wider M lenses.  Yes it's possible to use M lenses on ASPC but kind of a waste given that you're throwing away half the image circle. bill Posted May 29, 2013 Share #835  Posted May 29, 2013 No AA on the X-E1... It plays nice with Leica M, R and LTM glass... And Zeiss... And Nikon... And Olympus... And CV... And...  It's a dream with the 40mm Summicron.  Regards,  Bill  Sent from another Galaxy
