I hope folks will not mind a few from 'the brother camera' the LC1. It is that far removed fr?

Whatever the name on the front I am enjoying using it, and with the great advice given on Thorsten's site hopefully beginning to get something half worthwhile out of it.

Fine series, Uptong. Esp. I like the kid´s portraits.

For quite a while now, I wanted to add my >>distinctive D2- look<< to this thread.

Cudos to Thorsten O., I now dare to dig out a couple of oldtimer- photographs, hopefully

I can manage to load them in here ...

Nicely done.

I've got my DMC LC1 locked in to B&W and trying to keep the lens zoom below 35mm and shooting at 100 ISO. I wish there were a way I could truly lock it just as an exercise.

I really like the child portraits.

Yes indeed, this long rear-view looks a bit like a face. The front of many modern cars today are designed to look like faces. VW started to do this long ago, starting with the rear.

They were so fast in those days, that the designers thought they had to mentally calm down those which were overtaken on the autobahn.

By the way, for a moderate EUR 12.000 this one is still available. Very much less than a brandnew S2.

Cheers.

Dear folks, here I have the inside of a poppy blossom, without tripod, using a close-up lens in front of my Digilux 2.

Best regards, Peter.

If you'll allow me to gloat a bit... :) - shot these this morning at Bass Pro Shops (huge U.S. sporting goods store - and huge is an understatement). Saturdays they throw open the doors to let kids try everything out. Here Marlon go to try the bow and arrow. I'm not gloating about his marksmanship though... but rather mine. These were hand held at 0.31250s - .40000s @ f/2. ISO 100 and shot in black & white. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Peter,

Is the poppy shot with the Elpro close-up lens?

No, I wish I had one. I have the B+W close-up lens NL5, 77 mm, which I adapt using a 77/69 step-down ring by Heliopan. There would have been also smaller close-up lenses, however, I decided to use this one in order to circumvent potential edge problems.

In most cases, the B+W close-up lens works fine, however, sometimes distortions are visible, and chromatic abberrations.

As an example, see the image of the pansy, where you see a coloured edge.

Best regards, Peter.

I'm sure asabet (the OP) has enough replies to convince him of the delight that owning and using a Digilux 2 provides. And given the quality of the images posted here, regardless of their unique flavour, yes it's a camera to cherish. Allow me to provide a link to some of my efforts.

Much enjoyed your gallery, a great variety in there with even Arkwright and Nurse Gladys Emanuel - all proving that the D2/LC1 is a camera for all occasions. Well done.

This close-up is quite majestic and the result would not be out-of-place if from a dslr!
