Advertisement Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hi Stealth3kpl, Take a look here New Voigt 50/1.5 in M Fitting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TomB_tx Posted February 1, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Sounds very interesting. I have the earlier LTM 50 1.5 and it has been a very nice lens. The closer focus of this M mount and smaller filter (52 on the LTM) would be nice.
rramesh Posted February 1, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Would make for a very good portrait lens for the M43. Wonder how it will fare on the M9?
Tonki-M Posted February 1, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted February 1, 2013 lovely design. i'm unfamiliar with the Nokton's characteristics. how is it compare to Sonnar design?
rramesh Posted February 1, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Here's one of the previous version. I would imagine the new one is the same but in the M mount. Â Voigtlander Nokton 50 1.5 Lens Review | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS
jaques Posted February 1, 2013 Share #6 Â Posted February 1, 2013 I have the LTM asph version really a super lens. Very well made- very sharp- nice characteristics. This new M mount lens sounds like a real winner.... Voigtlander just keep on coming up with great new stuff- and very reasonable (for Leica mount) prices. LucisPictor Posted February 1, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow! That one looks good!! Â Damn, I decided not to buy any other lens for my M8. I hope I can keep that promise to myself.
Erik Gunst Lund Posted February 1, 2013 Share #8  Posted February 1, 2013 Here's one of the previous version. I would imagine the new one is the same but in the M mount. Voigtlander Nokton 50 1.5 Lens Review | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS  I don't think so. The new lens is 49mm thread looks like it is another optical design acording to Cameraquest only the name Nokton is similar.
Keith (M) Posted February 1, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Interesting. I wonder how it will compare with the ZM C-Sonnar f1.5 50mm? (Which is my M7's almost constant companion and has the advantage for me of a 46mm filter thread).
MarkP Posted February 1, 2013 Share #10 Â Posted February 1, 2013 Interesting. I wonder how it will compare with the ZM C-Sonnar f1.5 50mm?. Â My thoughts exactly. However, I'll stick with the ZM C-Sonnar
jaques Posted February 1, 2013 Share #11 Â Posted February 1, 2013 hmm- reading more not sure if this lens is the same as my LTM Nokton (like that reviewed by Huff and Co linked above)- or if it a different design based on the vintage and rare 1950's 1.5 Nokton (as pictured on the Gandy website linked above). It looks to be a straight close replica of the original externally... Whatever it is I love the old school metal look of the chrome (steel?) version- would go well with M9-p chrome. The lens looks substantial... Â I will take a punt of a list price around 1200...
Ecar Posted February 1, 2013 Share #12 Â Posted February 1, 2013 I will take a punt of a list price around 1200... Â Which currency? OK, let's play. I say 990 EUR.
farnz Posted February 1, 2013 Share #13 Â Posted February 1, 2013 lovely design. i'm unfamiliar with the Nokton's characteristics. how is it compare to Sonnar design? I have the LTM 50/1.5 Nokton and quite a few 50 Sonnars (CZJ 50/1.5 in LTM, CZJ 50/2 in Contax RF, CZ Opton 50/2, Nippon Kogaku 50/1.4 in LTM, Nippon Kogaku 50/2 in Nikkor, Canon 50/1.5) but the gorgeous Sonnar signature out of focus rendering is quite different from the Nokton's (which is also good). Obviously I can't speak for this latest M-mount Nokton because it appears to be a different design but at wider apertures none of the pictures from the Voigtlanders I own or have owned resemble Sonnar pictures; it's just a different look. Â Pete.

IWC Doppel Posted February 1, 2013 Share #15 Â Posted February 1, 2013 It will be interesting to compare to a Summilux pre ash
Printmaker Posted February 1, 2013 Share #16 Â Posted February 1, 2013 I'm not certain if it is the same design but I used a Voigtlander 50/1.5 on a Voigtlander camera back in the 70s. Both the camera and the lens were quite heavy but the results looked good. I got rid of them because the camera's shutter kept hanging up. Â I'm curious to see how this lens tests. thrid Posted February 1, 2013 Share #17  Posted February 1, 2013 It will be interesting to compare to a Summilux pre ash  Erwin Puts compared the two many years ago. The LTM Nokton ASPH gave it a run for the money.
Hannes Lummes Posted February 1, 2013 Share #18  Posted February 1, 2013 My guess: 700 euros. Probably almost the same formula with some improvements. Hopefully better asph grinding -> less onion rings. Of course more exotic glass types for better color correction would be fun too. But I assume that the basic formula is 7 or 8 element double Gauss.  If I don't receive my 50 lux soon, I'm definitely interested.  I've been waiting for Voigtländer's new 50 for a while. It was so obvious that there was a market for it. Hopefully Zeiss brings something more modern to the competition too.
rramesh Posted February 1, 2013 Share #19 Â Posted February 1, 2013 For those who have tried the previous LTM version, does it focus shift like the Zeiss Sonnar?
TomB_tx Posted February 2, 2013 Share #20 Â Posted February 2, 2013 For those who have tried the previous LTM version, does it focus shift like the Zeiss Sonnar? I haven't noticed any focus shift with the LTM version. I've used one on my M9 a lot. Quite sharp wide open, fair coma at the edges, overall very good. A bit more fringing on contrast edges wide open than a Summicron.
