prunelle Posted September 4, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 4, 2011 These sickly rich people, they buy the most expensive stuff just because they are the most expensive...
andybarton Posted September 4, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 4, 2011 You don't know that. Don't be so quick to judge. Looks like an M4, to me (but i stand to be corrected). Hardly billionaire stuff and being film, a definite statement.
mafoofan Posted September 4, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 4, 2011 These sickly rich people, they buy the most expensive stuff just because they are the most expensive... That's not very fair. Do you know for a fact that Lauren Bush isn't genuinely interested in photography? Anyway, it looks like she's carrying an off-the-rack M6 or M7--hardly the most expensive Leica she could have picked for herself.
mmradman Posted September 4, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2011 My thoughts pretty much along same lines as above (Prunelle). My guess photoshoot was staged by stylist to the last detail. Marrying into fashion family nothing but Leica film camera will do, darling.
plasticman Posted September 4, 2011 Share #6 Posted September 4, 2011 I guess this means film isn't dead, after all...

luigi bertolotti Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 4, 2011 You don't know that. Don't be so quick to judge. Looks like an M4, to me (but i stand to be corrected). Hardly billionaire stuff and being film, a definite statement. Seems there isn't a selftimer lever... time knob is "small"... I think is a M6 non- TTL...with a not so new lens; a honest fine classic which makes thinking of a genuine passion more than a richwoman's "must". kokoshawnuff Posted September 4, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 4, 2011 I've met Lauren Bush on several occasions when she was doing debutante style modeling, and she's a pretty liberal down to earth girl and always had some kind of camera with her. It looks like a $1200 M6 with a $500 Elmar-M, hardly the stuff of the rich trying to show off wealth
topoxforddoc Posted September 4, 2011 Share #10 Posted September 4, 2011 The article does say that she was at Princeton studying anthropology and photography!
lct Posted September 4, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 4, 2011 It could well be an S2 as well why wouldn't she use a camera she can afford?
Michael Geschlecht Posted September 4, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 4, 2011 Hello Everybody, The most expensve camera & the most advanced lens are not always the optimal combination in all situations for all people. 1 thing having sufficient money allows you is: You can more easily pick & choose from more options & create the cofiguration that most suits you or your circumstance. I thought they had Leica and M6 in two rows on the front of the top plate. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
andybarton Posted September 4, 2011 Share #14 Posted September 4, 2011 My thoughts pretty much along same lines as above (Prunelle). My guess photoshoot was staged by stylist to the last detail. Marrying into fashion family nothing but Leica film camera will do, darling. Please... You have no idea if this is true. It would, however, be interesting to find photos of Laura Bush with her Leica, on a day other than the day these shots were taken. I also find it interesting how people are so willing to think the worst of others, with no justification... It's just ridiculous.
AlanG Posted September 4, 2011 Share #15 Posted September 4, 2011 I'm trying to figure out what is a big deal of anyone carrying a Leica. Is this so unusual today?
antistatic Posted September 4, 2011 Share #16 Posted September 4, 2011 It is probably a half priced Leica as the M in your hand is worth two with the Bush.
Michael Geschlecht Posted September 4, 2011 Share #17 Posted September 4, 2011 Hello Andy, M6's came w/ various engravings factory standard. There was even 1 version that simply said "M6" on the front. Best Regards, Michael
