Four years after buying my 1957 M3 from the original owner, having it serviced & the vulcanite replaced I've finally managed to mate it to a similarly aged (1958) rigid Summicron. Looking so forward to getting out & shooting with it in 2018, I can't think of too many other things that would not only be fit for purpose, but still as fit for it, after 60 years.

Finally got my M3 repaired and repainted by Kanto. They did a wonderful job. The workmanship and communication were both excellent. All expectations including delivery timeframe were met. Very happy!

What kind of button is this - it looks interesting with the film strip icon on top! Do you have a link where this is available?

It's a Tom Abrahamsson memorial softie (he passed away last year) - they're available from his rapidwinder site

I've always wanted to sample an M3. My grandmother travelled extensively in the 1950's and she had one with a 35/90. My eldest brother inherited the outfit, and sold it in the mid-80's for an R4 + 35/90 (go figure). But I wear eyeglasses.

Last year I finally acquired a SS M3.  No problems with eye relief and glasses.  As I get back into rangefinders after a 5-6 year absence, I'm finding I like the higher magnification models (Leica M3, Nikon S2), but I'm just a 50mm guy.  Anyway, wish I tried the M3 sooner.
