Clickie McPete Posted October 13, 2012 Share #221 Posted October 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I picked up a magnificent SS on Ebay recently that DAG had just CLA'd. I have several M bodies already but always wanted a classic M3 so I treated myself. I have to say, there is something very special about this camera and I'm finding myself bonding with it in a way that I have not felt with the MP or M6ttl. I miss the lack of 35mm framelines a little bit but still am loving it to pieces.

!Nomad64 Posted October 13, 2012 Share #222 Posted October 13, 2012 Eric, I was just kidding, it's your holidays and your camera and you know what's best for you better than everyone else. Me, I'm a bit of a paranoid and when I go on film I tend to overstock. I prefer to come back home with some unused rolls than finding myself in the middle of nowhere and... two exposures left! When I restarted taking pictures on film I automatically began to think twice about every shoot as I used to do when digital didn't even exist and I was perennially short of monies. Now I think I can go with only 36 exposures on one day, but it's risky business. There might be the day on which I do not shoot a single time and those on which I become quite compulsive. Enjoy your holiday and post the pics on the forum! All the best, Bruno

You'll have to get the 35 Summicron with goggles to go with it Gerry

stube Posted January 19, 2013 Share #232 Posted January 19, 2013 Here's mine. The finder is exquisite. It's not as smooth (advance lever) as the other older Leicas I've handled though, guess I'll have to get it CLA'd... Welcome, dear visitor! TomB_tx Posted January 19, 2013 Share #235 Posted January 19, 2013 Here are my M3s - in original cases. The first is a 1955 DS that came with a 1939 5 cm Summitar in LTM adapter, with a LeicaMeter M that works fine. I just had a curtain replaced in this by Youxin Ye, and it works fine. The other I've had for a while - 1960 SS with 1963 35mm Summicron and LeicaMeter MR that also works fine. This one has a case for the lenses with optical viewing unit. The cases are also in good shape - just need to stitch up a couple areas. There were lot of detail changes between 1955 and 1960! Welcome, dear visitor! iphoenix Posted January 25, 2013 Share #240 Posted January 25, 2013 Thank you, Istvan! However, mine isn`t a pretty camera more a rough street-fighter  There is nothing quite so good to use as a slightly worn, but fully working, Leica M3...or M2....or M4.....or M5()......or M4-2.......or M4-P, etc., etc., etc.
