pippy Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13823 Posted November 6, 2020 (edited) Not sure if it's the Briggs Cunningham "Knobbly" Lister-Jaguar? It looks like it might be but I thought the Cunningham one had competition stripes... Let's just guess Lister-Jaguar and leave it at that for the time being! Philip. NigelG Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13826 Posted November 6, 2020 There’s a distinguishing feature to this specific car (which isn’t visible in the photo 😀) for all the points!

Well, that makes it easier!... All I can think of in terms of specific Lister-Chevrolet (assuming for a moment that it is such a car!) would be either a Costin-bodied version - but it doesn't really look like one - or the prototype of the Chevy-engined batch? Other than that I haven't a clue! Philip.
NigelG Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13828 Posted November 6, 2020 The distinguishing feature is on the side of the body...
m410 Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13829 Posted November 6, 2020 It is not an Austin-Healey Sprite, but it appears it has the same taillights. So is it British?

Well we've established it's a Lister-Chevrolet...so you've got 16(?) cars to choose from.

NigelG Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13832 Posted November 6, 2020 Nope. It's a bit of a niche distinction!
pippy Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13833 Posted November 6, 2020 (edited) ...erm... Stub Exhausts? Air-brake Panels? Glycol Coolant Pipework? An Alberto Vargas painting of a 'Pin-up' on the wings? Am I getting close?... Philip. (I was about to type 'NACA Ducts' but that seemed ridiculous!............) Edited November 6, 2020 by pippy

pippy Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13835 Posted November 6, 2020 (edited) Mobil 'Pegasus' and Dean Van Line map of America? Philip. Edited November 6, 2020 by pippy
NigelG Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13836 Posted November 6, 2020 Bingo its the 1958 “Dean Van Lines” Lister-Chevrolet Knobbly. It’s unique as it was the only Lister that ran with sponsors logos in period (and hence the only FIA sanctioned logoed car now). Makes a nice “racket” if you’re standing next to it when they start her up! Will find the side view
pippy Posted November 6, 2020 Share #13837 Posted November 6, 2020 I seemed to remember seeing a 'Knobbly' with the Mobil Pegasus at an Historic meet (probably Goodwood Revival) but admit to having had to resort to Google to confirm my suspicions. Didn't know about the 'logos in period' detail you mention, though, Nigel. Fascinating stuff; I love that kind of trivia! OK; here's the next goody for your amusement. Not quite as rarified as a Lister but a handsome carriage nonetheless IMO. Snapped her just yesterday when I was taking my afternoon 'constitutional' in these strange times. Marque, Model, Mark (if possible) and rough date if you can! Welcome, dear visitor!
