NigelG Posted March 18, 2019 Share #12124 Posted March 18, 2019 Couldn’t tell from the crop if it was a W180 (220S) or W128 (220SE)....but those door handles are distinctive.
dkCambridgeshire Posted March 18, 2019 Share #12125 Posted March 18, 2019 I've a soft spot for Pontons … my father had a '58 220A in which I learnt to drive well over 50 years ago. Unfortunately I do not have anything ready to post for the next car. Can another member please contribute? Regards dunk

NigelG Posted March 18, 2019 Share #12127 Posted March 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think I drove a "ton pierre" example working on a property in early 90's so I'll excuse myself.....although the rear overhang is shorter than I remember on my version. Those rear corners are usually rather more bent out of shape then your pic!

NigelG Posted March 18, 2019 Share #12129 Posted March 18, 2019 (edited) None needed - "touch" parking was the preferred mode in the rural villages I lived in . Edited March 18, 2019 by NigelG

NigelG Posted March 19, 2019 Share #12133 Posted March 19, 2019 I had an AK350 - low roofline/smooth upper panels and bigger rear windows....an “interesting” drive on wet mountainous roads when unladen - I suspect the suspension was a little off. We did sometimes take the seats out and use them as picnic chairs just like the old brochures but a friend who had to suffer sitting in the back on the corrugated load bed for a long drive after we picked him up from Toulouse airport never forgave me!
vanellus Posted March 19, 2019 Share #12134 Posted March 19, 2019 Thank you AZach, I once owned an AK400 - ingeniously simple and lovable. Here comes a piece of art, created by an american artist, for a long time professor of art at an university in New Jersey. What´s the name he gave this car? Welcome, dear visitor!
