The W 136 Mercedes-Benz 170S was my first car, and one of the most comfortable I have ever been in. Maybe because of its 120 kph top speed the suspension didn't need to be too firm. Cost AU$60,-. Rona!d Posted April 29, 2019 Share #12191 Posted April 29, 2019 Just a guess ... possibly a 1957 Bel Air.
stuny Posted April 29, 2019 Share #12192 Posted April 29, 2019 Exactly. Prior to 1958, and the release of the Chevrolet Impala, the Bel Air was their top model. Your turn.
Rona!d Posted April 29, 2019 Share #12193 Posted April 29, 2019 NOW I see the registration and it says 57 CHV, so I sorted the details for the year correctly 😉 Do have something nice and rare tomorrow.

Far away from type 64 and Porsche. Think more south of Germany/Austria.
wlaidlaw Posted April 30, 2019 Share #12197 Posted April 30, 2019 There were various German makers of streamline cars (BMW 328 + Kamm, Wendler and other coachbuilders' bodies, the plexiglass bodied Adler and the Colsman) but I cannot think of any with enclosed front wheels, assuming that is what I am seeing. The side/indicator housing looks 1960's but might be a later addition. Wilson
