Advertisement Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Hi Lazzaros, Take a look here How many film cameras do people still own and use?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rleffingwell Posted April 13, 2010 Share #202 Posted April 13, 2010 Three M6TTLs and lenses from 21 to 280; 3 Nikon F5s and lenses from 14 to 600 (some of which see duty on 2 D2xs), 2 Hasselblads and a small assortment of lenses, 1 Sinar P and a large box of lenses (and holders.) When I'm shooting for myself, it's nearly always the M6s; when I'm shooting for my books it's most often the F5s and sometimes Hasselblads. (A motorcycle book I did two years ago consumed 600 rolls of 120.) When I'm shooting for someone else (like this coming weekend for the Long Beach GP Association,) it's the D2xs but I'll still shoot the Leicas (and Fujichrome) on practice-day Friday. I got some experience with digitals in 1994 and 1995 on the paper where I worked - crude, heavy things - and technology improved, of course. But several years ago I went back to film as much and as often as possible. Last year it amounted to about 150 rolls. This year, with a new book project, it'll double that. I just prefer the look of film so much more - even scanned.

pgk Posted April 15, 2010 Share #206 Posted April 15, 2010 I own 2 x film cameras: An original Calypsophot c/w 35mm Som Berthiot lens, and a Nikonos II c/w chrome 35mm and 28mm Nikkors Neither is usable for its original application (underwater) as the 'O' ring seals are cracking and both need full service and seal replacement. Both are 'Leica based' I suspect and the 35mm lenses were both rangefinder based. The 28mm is, I think, unique in having a concave front element and appears to be a true underwater lens design. I hope that one day I'll get them both going again .

SJP Posted April 16, 2010 Share #209 Posted April 16, 2010 ah another camera counting thread:D Let's see.... Olympus XA Nikon FM2 Nikon F3 Leica M2 + 2 foldable Kodak camera's (ca. 1920-1930 I guess) that I inherited form great-uncle Leonard - one is not operational anymore as the bellows have sprung a leak due to the leather drying out, any tips anyone on how to treat leather bellows (beeswax?). I checked on internet some time ago and I don't think they are particularly valuable. Getting films for these things is pretty difficult, let alone developing the stuff which would be a major hassle. Total = 6, of which I use the M2 on occasion with 35/2.8 summaron. So 1 is the answer in my case.

akitadog Posted April 19, 2010 Share #211 Posted April 19, 2010 Well, let's see now. Firstly, I use almost only film cameras. Have a Canon G7 for snaps etc. Other than that, I use the following: M4-p M6 Mamiya 6 Nikon F3HP Rollei 35s They all have their a reason for use. Mamiya 6 almost only for serious landscapes. Leica for Travel, street etc. Also use for Landscape when back woods etc. Rollei 35 for when I take the Digital but want film backup in a light package. Nikon F3HP for then I need Telephoto or Macro Lenses. And NO, I would not Sell my film Cameras. They are all Wonderful Cameras and I love Film. I would however buy an M9 if I could afford one. Guest ccmsosse Posted April 26, 2010 Share #213 Posted April 26, 2010 Wow I am impressed how many have multiple cameras I sold all my gear (Olympus, Contax G2 etc) to afford a M9 and am now regretting is somewhat; so I'll get a MP too - this way the Leica glass will serve two masters and I can experiment with film and digital.. jsrockit Posted April 27, 2010 Share #214 Posted April 27, 2010 I'm starting to think that the only reason to use film is because M cameras are so damn fun. Outside of Leica Ms, I prefer digital.
Michael Markey Posted April 27, 2010 Share #215 Posted April 27, 2010 I have an M3DS (1955),M2 (1960) ,Mju ,Pentax ME Super,Yashica FXD and a 1930 Kodak Hawkette 2. Apart from the two M cameras ,which I bought, the others were gifts. The Hawkette was my fathers. I use them all apart from the Hawkette which has light leaks. I do have a digital ,a Pany FX3 but don`t use it much.I tend to reach for the Mju if I need a compact.
Peter_S Posted April 27, 2010 Share #216 Posted April 27, 2010 Just got myself a Contax T3 as small back-up camera and occassional b+w primary camera. Looking forward to receiving it and firing the first roll through it.
pico Posted April 27, 2010 Share #217 Posted April 27, 2010 Too many film cameras to count because I have accumulated for over forty years. No SLRs. They are all rangefinders from 35mm to 5x4 inch and view cameras. I fear I'll have to sell them soon. No digital cameras in the house, but several for the day-job where I manage to ruin a couple cameras a year due largely to winter weather conditions. (You can understand why management won't approve of a Leica M9 if I trash two cameras a year.)

visoflex Posted April 27, 2010 Share #219 Posted April 27, 2010 Still got 2 customised M6's (MP viewfinder & 0.72/3 frames). I have recently acquired a Panasonic LX3 which is surprising me with its capabilities. I really can't justify keeping 2 M6's now, so the chrome one will probably be sold soon.
