Hi, today I test a 70-200 f/4 Lumix with my SL (601). It works fine, except the OS. Most of the film it woks well but sometimes at various exposure speeds the picture does not freeze in the viewer and the result is blurred. This happens often, when the camera was in stand-by. Sometimes it helps to start the camera new. Pressing the trigger half way helps sometimes but not often. When the picture is freezes in the EVF the result is fine. One time parts of the picture was blurred and other ok. Both the Cameras and the lens firmware is the last. Have you noticed this by your lens/camera combo? Or is it a problem with the settings in the menu? To me it looks as it's a lens fault.

Just received the new 2X Tele Converter DMW-STC20 for the Panasonic Lumix S PRO Leica 70-200 F4 O.I.S. Sample image below from my SL taken at 40m Panasonic 2x converter ( 400 mm - Leica - Spot - Aperture priority - ISO 1600 - ¹⁄₅₀₀ sec at ƒ - 8.0 - 0 EV - ) -1230695.jpg Very happy the results so far although maximum aperture is down at f/8.0 - OK for sunny days. Total cost for both items less than 50% of the Leica 90-280 f/2.8-f/4. The DMW-STC20 with the Leica 280mm might be fun!

Ist zwar keine Vollblut-Leica. Aber für den bevorstehenden Schnorchel- und Strand-Urlaub musste was wasserdichtes und robustes her. Um dann hier Bilder herzuzeigen, sollte sie unbedingt ein Leica Objektiv haben. Darum das ältere Modell Lumix DMC FT5. Baujahr 2014. Objektiv Leica DC Vario-Elmar 3,3-5,9/28-128mm mit 4,6-fach opt. Zoom Ist nur zufällig in Camouflage. So merkt man die Gebrauchsspuren nicht so schnell. War dafür ein nettes Bundle aus einer Kleinanzeige mit 2tem Akku und 2 64GB Speicherkarten. Falls jemand sowas überlegt. Erste Eindrücke. Die Kamera ist viel kleiner und leichter als gedacht, passt locker in eine Hemdtasche. In 1 Sekunde nach dem einschalten bereit. Die Menüführung ist nicht überladen. Trotzdem braucht man etwas Übung und Fingerspitzengefühl um die Tasten zu bedienen. Es gibt nur eine Handvoll Motivprogramme plus eine Manuelle Funktion. Mit der Bildqualität bin ich sehr zufrieden. Zoomen sollte man allerdings tunlichst vermeiden. Videoqualität ist auch recht gut (wahlweise AVCHD oder MP4). Durch das geringe Gewicht wackelt man allerdings. Also wo hinstellen oder ein kleines Stativ nehmen. Stereomikro. Videolicht. GPS ist an Board. Noch nicht getestet, soll laut anderer Tests bis auf 10 Meter genau passen. Höherer Stromverbrauch, eh klar! Via W-LAN und Panasonic Image App lässt sie sich fernsteuern und Bilder übertragen. Makrofunktion tadellos, Nahbereich bis ca. 4cm. Fallhöhe bis zu 2 Meter sollen ihr angeblich nichts antun, Tauchtiefe bis 13m.

I've been happy with my Lumix cameras, which I chose partly because they had Leica lenses. I'm tempted to go Leica, but I constantly read that a given Lumix model is a Leica in all but price. Is it so?

Has anyone experience of using Lumix branded comparable batteries instead of Leica on the D-Lux 3 or on any other Leica models? I am assuming they would be compatible, and/or does someone have some suggestions please are.

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit der Panasonic Lumix G2 in Kombination mit Leica M Objektiven? Ich habe zwar eine schöne, herkömmliche Leica, die natürlich unschlagbar ist (bzw. wäre - sie hat leider einen Defekt), würde aber gerne die Objektive auch digital verwenden ohne gleich ein Vermögen ausgeben zu müssen. Hi there.... I have 2 R lenses - Elmarit R 2.8/35 & Summicron 2/50 and would like to use these on a digital body with the appropriate adaptor. I'm resigned to the fact that Leica doesn't see fit to offer a solution - there must be many enthusiasts in this position. Have looked at Lumix G1, Olympus Pen as small bodies (not bulky DSLR) with recognised quality. My question is regarding the manual features of these lenses on new 'Auto/Manual' digitals. For example - focusing - does the camera recognise the lens focus? or is it all guesswork? The speed/aperture - does the lens change the camera or does the user change the change the camera to match the lens, or the lens to match the camera etc etc. Any assistance appreciated as it seems impossible to match R lenses with M cameras so I have to look elsewhere - bugger! thanks in advance!

Hi there! Has anybody ever tried, if Panasonics DMW-MCTZ10E underwater housing for the Lumix TZ-10 (or ZS-7 outside Europe), fits their sibling the Leica V-LUX 20?

Hello, I am interested if anybody else has experienced the problem, that the scroll wheel of the D2 or LC1 (in my case) behaves unpredictable / jumpy. When you are zoomed into images in the Play-Mode it is impossible to tell if the camera will zoom in or out, no matter how much you turn the wheel, or in which direction. I would be also happy to hear what could cause such a problem - dirt, broken microswitch, ... Thanks a lot for your experiences.
