likalar Posted September 4, 2010 Share #7 Posted September 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Excellent photograph, Ivan, Not only the moody scene and subjects, but the tones and textures are, as you might say, "tops"! Thank you. Larry
farnz Posted September 4, 2010 Share #8 Posted September 4, 2010 A typically engaging photo, Ivan. I particularly like the way that the man's face is bird-like. (Perhaps there's truth to the saying that owners grow to look like their pets.) Pete.
LeicaBraz Posted September 4, 2010 Share #9 Posted September 4, 2010 Azzo, I like your photographs - they are technically very good; you've found your niche/technique. But, without wanting to be rude, why is it that they all look very much the same? Sort of "seen one, seen all". On the other hand, you had a series of women (models, posing) which looked somewhat fresher. I do remember one of a pair of shoes on a staircase. The traditional ones, as said, give me a sense of deja-vu. Trying here to be very honest. Regards.
azzo Posted September 4, 2010 Author Share #10 Posted September 4, 2010 Azzo, ..... why is it that they all look very much the same? Sort of "seen one, seen all". On the other hand, you had a series of women (models, posing) which looked somewhat fresher. I do remember one of a pair of shoes on a staircase. The traditional ones, as said, give me a sense of deja-vu. Leicabraz, had a look at what you've posted up to now but found nothing so, I don't really know your style or what pleases you most. My suggestion is that you skip to another post when you get to mine if mine give you a "sense of deja-vu." What else can I say ..... Friends, Thank you all. Your time to look and to leave a comment is as always, very much appreciated.

allamande Posted September 4, 2010 Share #14 Posted September 4, 2010 Ivan, I agree with all of the above (-1 ). I wish this was a bit larger though, some of the exquisite detail is shortchanged in this size, IMHO. Love his nose, his entire posture and relationship to the bird. RichardM8 Posted September 5, 2010 Share #16 Posted September 5, 2010 Stunning image... For me it has the look of 'one from the old masters' about it. Impressive... Richard.
radphoto Posted September 5, 2010 Share #17 Posted September 5, 2010 Hi Azzo, great stunning classic portrait.I don't understand why someone would post a negative comment on traditional portraiture being a bit deja vu. Actual fact, is this style of work requires understanding and craftsmanship of light and posing to consistently produce high standards. Anyone can point and shoot, but a craftsman can put the soul into the portrait. Well done and I look forward to seeing more of your work. cheers Wayne http://www.portraittipsandtechniques.com

topoxforddoc Posted September 5, 2010 Share #19 Posted September 5, 2010 Azzo, One of the best from you that I've seen. It's almost a caricature, but it's real. The light falling on him and the bird is perfect as are the deep blacks in the background. Best wishes,
