LUF Admin Posted August 31, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 31, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Over the last time we didn't have many threads about "Leica R" thus I didn't plan to create a new R section. In the last days several Leica R photographers complained and tried to convince me.In order to decide this question I've set up this poll:If you want to be active in a Leica R Forum, please vote here.If until photokina (September 18th) 50 active contributors show up, I'll create a dedicated Leica R Forum - OK?Andreas
Advertisement Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Hi LUF Admin, Take a look here Poll: Leica R Forum?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dave.gt Posted August 31, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2012 Thank you, Andreas! You're the best!
jaapv Posted August 31, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 31, 2012 I voted yes in the German forum and this one -as I would participate in both.
sdai Posted August 31, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 31, 2012 I suspect that many folks never even bothered to visit the "About the forum" forum ... so I'm not sure about the visibility of this poll. If Leica announces the R solution on Sep. 17 as expected there might be way more than 50 votes out of nowhere all in a sudden.
AB007 Posted August 31, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 31, 2012 I voted yes. I am new in the forum not sure what is active member so I voted read only. It would be great to have a R forum. Thank you.
mmradman Posted August 31, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 31, 2012 Voted yes, thank you. In my count almost every forth lens produced by Leica was R lens so it deserves some attention here.
Michael Geschlecht Posted September 1, 2012 Share #7 Posted September 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Andreas, Yes, Also: Might I suggest the Section be called: Leicaflex/Leica - R 1 or the other having been engraved on lenses made w/ different mounts for different sub-systems. Just a thought. btw: Criteria for participation: Bodies ? Lenses? Accessories? Best Regards, Michael
wirat Posted September 1, 2012 Share #8 Posted September 1, 2012 Glad to have R forum. I am still using R cameras frequently.
azzo Posted September 1, 2012 Share #9 Posted September 1, 2012 I see that there are members who really wish this R section. .. That for me, is good enough reason to vote yes.
MarkP Posted September 1, 2012 Share #10 Posted September 1, 2012 My nephew just bought a Sony NEX-7 with 35 and 50 Summicron-R's (and was luckily given an imaculate Leicaflex with the lenses). He plans to expand his R lens collection over time. A Leica-R forum would be a great resource.

gidion27 Posted September 1, 2012 Share #12 Posted September 1, 2012 Funny enough I really miss a leica R section since I prefer Slr's over rangefinders. The R range seems to be whipped of the map after leica discontinued itwhich is a really shame. Glad to see there is still some love
dave.gt Posted September 1, 2012 Share #13 Posted September 1, 2012 Loving my R4 and 50 Cron. I really would like a couple of longer lenses to go with an R8 and R9!!!! So let's get this done!!! Sign up as ACTIVE and let's start having some fun!
garysamson Posted September 1, 2012 Share #14 Posted September 1, 2012 Yes, definitely let's get this forum started!
dave.gt Posted September 1, 2012 Share #15 Posted September 1, 2012 One of the by-products of the relative obscurity of R cameras has been the availability of really nice cameras for pocket change! I use my R4 professionally and only paid $200 a couple of years ago for a mint example from an estate sale. They are so cheap (and lenses much cheaper than M lenses) that I can buy multiple bodies, not as a collector, but as user who happens to have multiple backup cameras! Great cameras for less than a CLA for an M digital! In anticipation of shooting a thousand rolls of film over the next few years on documentaries, I have an appointment in Serenbe at the darkroom to begin developing my own 35mm and 120mm film! Now to find a scanner for 26mb files...
andybarton Posted September 1, 2012 Share #16 Posted September 1, 2012 Any scanner will give you 26MB files. My Nikon V produces 125MB colour tiff files
hamey Posted September 1, 2012 Share #17 Posted September 1, 2012 Please Andreas, Yes, Yes, Yes. I love the Reflex system, been using it since 1973. Thank you Ken.

tobey bilek Posted September 1, 2012 Share #19 Posted September 1, 2012 If there is a digital solution that is practical, a R forum would be nice. My two Leica PC lenses, 35 & 28 , now have nikon mounts. 10 others are sleeping awaiting a new calling. I did not vote and am awaiting Photokina. Putting $100,000 + into an S system is a waste for me. Nice to have, but I would be nervous to walk down the street with even one camera and lens,
taskoni Posted September 2, 2012 Share #20 Posted September 2, 2012 I will be happy to gain some R - experience from the other R us. I voted for the R forum. P.S. Thank you Dave Regards, Boris
