  1. Knopfzelle SR44 ev LR44 und ein Adapter mit Spannungsreduktion (von 1,5V auf 1,35V). Oder besser - CL auf 1,35 umbauen lassen und einfachen Adapter ohne Diode
  2. there are 2 contacts in series, both mnust be closed to fire the flash. One(A) is located under the locking pawl, second (B) under the speed dial. When you press release contact A shall be closed, shutter starts to run and closes the second contact. When you remove speed dial and the part under it contact B is constantly closed so if you then press release and close A flash shall fire. With the screwdrive you are pushing the pawl down and then contact closes. However what I noticed on the video is that you push the pawl down without having release button down, repeat your test when release button is kept down. Problem is with the contacts under the pawl and you would need to take off the top cover to analyse further. Btw - did you mark position of the collar under the speed dial before removing it? It is closing contact B when shutter runs and if it is positioned incorrectly flash will not work correctly for bulbs and most probably not for electronic flash
  3. top plate was most probably reengraved. Not only that Leica did not have "I" but only "1", as well the font is bigger. Comparison with regular Leica engraving, acc shoe as the reference for the font size. Square acc shoe could havew been replaced as well. Btw - I might have all elements in nickel, non-extensible rewind knob and black painted (but worn) cover under speed dial as spare parts
  4. formula is A(perture)= f(ocal length)/D(iameter of opening). For your lens, when aperture set to 3,3 opening shall be roughly 8,5mm in diameter. There could be optical performance reasons why lens is throttled
  5. according to Hahne some of rigid Summars were converted in the factory still before shipping, 186042 (together with,,43 and ,,44) belongs to this group, see below (Sumus is codename for retractable Summar)
  6. quite normal for very early IIIb, it is the style as was in II/III/IIIa.
  7. yes, it is coupled, I did not look carefuly enough before. It is so called "heavy cam", cam is slopped. It is standartized.
  8. I believe it is standartized and most probably coupled with rangefinder, mount is 11 oclock with infinity lock. There should be "0" engraved above the screw on DOF
  9. William, can you send me (PM or email) some photos of the mount of your special Elmar and shutter in your Korelle? If you are interested I may try to put them together, I have autocollimator so I am able to check focusing
  10. There were more brands using Elmar lenses, like Beier (Elmar 10,5cm), Mentor Dreivier, Kochmann Korelle, Certo Dollina, etc. Check for the book from Thiele, it starts with serial 92000. Btw. Leica started to assign serial number to 5cm Elmars s with approx 70000/71000, number was however hidden, visible only after dismantling. But this is not subject of your question, I believe
  11. you may check with Leica history of camera including dates when it was in repair with Leica. Camera has a mixup of various parts and as such would never leave the factory or Leica service.
  12. this is the pawl for IIIa/IIIb, with the bolt for 1/1000
  13. do you really have 1/1000 on the speed dial? Can you set it? Shutter will not open on 1/1000th, special screw on the pawl is missing/was never installed there. Pawl is for II/III, without 1/1000
  14. shall be II, without d. According to Hahe highest serial within II was 358700. Top plate had another number, milled off. With some portion of imagination I believe to recognize there "70" in the middle. You may try to make another photo, different illumination, another angle and higher resolution. Maybe then more digits will be clear
  15. separate (unscrew) distance scale and riffled tube, you will be able then to unscrew the whole helicoid, Mind the point when threads will separate. Additionally, in next step you might want to remove the riffled tube - remove head, pull off the marked ring, remove 3 screws that are under the ring
