Ahoy,

You can read about my exploits with my M9 on my blog Ahoy! - Photography, boats, bikes and an occasional rant

It's not exclusively M9 but many of the images and posts are about it and if you like boats and motorbikes too then you're in luck.

Off sailing around the Med for 4 months so hope to be posting lots of lovely images in the coming months.

Cheers

Benjy

Benjy, welcome to the forum. What an interesting lifestyle reflected in your website and pictures. I clicked the link and found myself reading about an enthusiastic owner of Brompton cycles which makes perfect sense in your relatively confined situation.

While I do not have a 50mm Summarit lens, I was a little surprised to read of your experience. Perhaps you did not use the optional lens hood which should help in back-lighting situations. I hope you kept the Digilux 2 which continues to produce superb pictures for me. It also reaches further than your wide angle on M9. I note that you use the 21mm lens a lot which I am sure is useful for many boating shots. I hope you also have a portrait lens; even a 50mm modern Elmar or Summicron. When you have time please continue your blog discussing your lens choices.

Dear forum,

I am a proud owner of a Leica M9 and a Summilux 50 mm ASPH since February 2010. It is my first Leica. And I started with "seriously" taking photos maybe two years ago.

After 4 months with the M9, I found it is time to start a little website presenting the first results:

www.winfried-veil.de

There are not many words, just photography...

Hello,

Earlier this summer I spent a couple of weeks in the midcoast of Maine with my M9. It is a beautiful place, really inspiring...

Here is a selection of black and white images shot aboard a 1927 schooner: olad.

I also put together a book on blurb with more images from my trip. You can preview the entire book online at LIGHT, WIND & WATER | Photo book preview

Thanks for looking,

Gilles
