ahh, this reminds me on the first car I ever had, a VW built 1968 (Allan, your one is somewhat older I believe). When I was a little boy my father had one built 1958.

 

I remember the 60s and early 70s when these cars dominated the streets in Germany.

Sometime in the 80s I recognized that they had vanished...

 

This car was so unique. I could repair it myself, it was reliable and had this very specific sound. Just one thing was so difficult to handle in this car but that is not for this forum

Herr Lemke hat sein Automobil ja ganz schön verfälscht (oder sollte ich sagen verschlimmbessert?).

 

Kotflügel und übrige Karosserie stammen aus erheblich unterschiedlichen Jahrgängen.

 

Na ja, wer merkt es schon? Sonst ein nettes Foto.

The original Herbie is older, has smaller windows etc. The front-bumper has a problem, it fit´s bad and the Ferrari-sticker is nonsense. But it´s shiny, so nobody cares ;-)
