JBA Posted August 1, 2009 Share #41 Posted August 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hmmm . . . lower contrast . . . I'll say 50 Summarit f1.5 just because it's a lens that fascinates me (even though I've never used it).

ArtZ Posted August 1, 2009 Share #42 Posted August 1, 2009 Luigi, Elmar 3,5cm maybe?
luigi bertolotti Posted August 1, 2009 Share #43 Posted August 1, 2009 Longer.. and the low contrast evidenced above is a significant hint...
ArtZ Posted August 1, 2009 Share #44 Posted August 1, 2009 Hummm... hard, hard, hard... I've never used one but could it be a Summar 5cm ? Longer and low contrast
farnz Posted August 1, 2009 Share #45 Posted August 1, 2009 Hmm ... with the low contrast, the dreamy, soft look and colours that fluoresce could this be the 90 f/2 Thambar by any chance, Luigi? Pete.

ArtZ Posted August 1, 2009 Share #48 Posted August 1, 2009 Please tell us it's that Canon Serenar 85 f/1.9 we've all been dying to see since the first post. JBA, I tested one here in Paris two month ago. I would have bought it... but it was reserved Just for the pleasure of your eyes... acanalda Posted August 1, 2009 Share #49 Posted August 1, 2009 Summarit 5 cm 1:1.
NZDavid Posted August 2, 2009 Share #50 Posted August 2, 2009 I'll go for the Summar at 2.2 to 3.2. Swirly bokeh hints at hexagonal aperture.
UliWer Posted August 2, 2009 Share #51 Posted August 2, 2009 Hektor 7.3cm f 1.9 LTM to M mount shoot @ f4 I second the guess that it is the Hektor 7.3 cm on M; though I think the f was 2.2.
JBA Posted August 2, 2009 Share #52 Posted August 2, 2009 JBA, I tested one here in Paris two month ago. I would have bought it... but it was reserved Just for the pleasure of your eyes... Canon Serenar 85 f/1.9 ArtZ. thanks for that link. I looked through the local camera shops, but the only Serenar I found was listed as f2.0. The 85 f1.9 next to it did not say Serenar. According to the link you posted, not every 85 f1.9 is a Serenar, but apparently not every Serenar is f1.9.
Pangur Ban Posted August 2, 2009 Share #53 Posted August 2, 2009 Since I basically nailed it, I'll explain my reasoning.... I've edited the whole post to avoid repetition - but, seriously that's exactly the sort of explanation I was looking for - detailed, instructive and every point justified back to an element of the image. Many thanks.
ArtZ Posted August 3, 2009 Share #54 Posted August 3, 2009 Luigi, I know you have a very old (129006) coated Hektor 7,3 cm... and also a Summitar 50... Any chance you have a Summar 50? Hummm... please do not tell me the picture of Laura and Silvia are taken with your Hektor... I don't want to hear that...
lct Posted August 3, 2009 Share #55 Posted August 3, 2009 Funny game here and congrats to the winners as i found at least 4 lenses matching Andy's picture personally. Too difficult for me with B&W jpegs anyway.
luigi bertolotti Posted August 3, 2009 Share #56 Posted August 3, 2009 HEKTOR 7,3 !!! At something around f4 , indeed. Compliments to all the 3 above... ArtZ : how did you remember even the s/n of it ? Sorry... I really shot Laura and Silvia with that ... just for fun... Now, let's wait for another and see if this fun game can go on... ArtZ Posted August 3, 2009 Share #58 Posted August 3, 2009 Grrrr... Hate you! Luigi, Yesterday, I remembered an old post from you on "Leica Collectors & Historica" where you were talking about your coated Hektor 7,3 cm. It hasn't been very difficult to find the post... and the serial number. I know, I know... I'm most of the time muddle-headed, scatterbrained, harebrained... but I have a good (photographic) memory! PS: When you said it was longer than 35mm, I thought of the Hektor 7,3 cm but the colours have fooled me. Grrrr...
ArtZ Posted August 3, 2009 Share #59 Posted August 3, 2009 Here's one taken with my Leica MP. Bonus points if you can guess both the lens and the film. Ok, let's try! For the film I would say Fuji Provia 400 (maybe Velvia) but for the lens, I have to think about... I'm sure it's a tricky one... Summicron-M 90 APO ASPH, maybe? PS: A crop at 100% would be highly appreciated!
wizard Posted August 3, 2009 Share #60 Posted August 3, 2009 Bonus points if you can guess both the lens and the film. Summicron 90 ASPH would have been my first guess, too. As to the film, that's more difficult. It has a blue cast, so Fuji comes to mind (although the Fuji films I use are not THAT bluish). There is one Fuji slide film which is only sold in Japan, forgot the name, could be that one. Andy
