JBA, I tested one here in Paris two month ago. I would have bought it... but it was reserved

Just for the pleasure of your eyes... Canon Serenar 85 f/1.9

ArtZ. thanks for that link. I looked through the local camera shops, but the only Serenar I found was listed as f2.0. The 85 f1.9 next to it did not say Serenar. According to the link you posted, not every 85 f1.9 is a Serenar, but apparently not every Serenar is f1.9.

Since I basically nailed it, I'll explain my reasoning....

I've edited the whole post to avoid repetition - but, seriously that's exactly the sort of explanation I was looking for - detailed, instructive and every point justified back to an element of the image. Many thanks.

Luigi,

I know you have a very old (129006) coated Hektor 7,3 cm... and also a Summitar 50... Any chance you have a Summar 50? Hummm... please do not tell me the picture of Laura and Silvia are taken with your Hektor... I don't want to hear that...

:o

Here's one taken with my Leica MP. Bonus points if you can guess both the lens and the film.

Grrrr... Hate you! :p

Luigi,

Yesterday, I remembered an old post from you on "Leica Collectors & Historica" where you were talking about your coated Hektor 7,3 cm. It hasn't been very difficult to find the post... and the serial number.

I know, I know... I'm most of the time muddle-headed, scatterbrained, harebrained... but I have a good (photographic) memory!

PS: When you said it was longer than 35mm, I thought of the Hektor 7,3 cm but the colours have fooled me. Grrrr... :D

Ok, let's try!

For the film I would say Fuji Provia 400 (maybe Velvia) but for the lens, I have to think about... I'm sure it's a tricky one...

Summicron-M 90 APO ASPH, maybe?

PS: A crop at 100% would be highly appreciated! ;)

Summicron 90 ASPH would have been my first guess, too. As to the film, that's more difficult. It has a blue cast, so Fuji comes to mind (although the Fuji films I use are not THAT bluish). There is one Fuji slide film which is only sold in Japan, forgot the name, could be that one.

Andy
