a DMR Sub-forum is NOT needed. All these arguments about such-and-such camera has a sub-forum, why can't the DMR have one are pointless. If anything, THOSE sub-forums should be nixed and have social groups started instead--let's make it nice and simple--Digital SLR/Rangefinder, Digital P+S, Film. There ya go, there's your three camera forums you need. Stop belly-aching for a new sub-forum and join the DMR social group--there's currently all of 13 members. What don't you people stop complaining and sign up for something that is already part of the system, and please give me a better reason than "The M8 and S2 have sub-forums"?

geesh,

Troy

Troy,

Sounds to me like you've answered your question yourself; the social groups have been going for quite a while now but there are still only 13 people in the DMR group ... so they're not really working.

I don't have a DMR but I'd have no objection to a DMR group - seems like a good idea if it promotes the forum by drawing new people in by making issues, answers and information more accessible.

Pete.

Hey Conrad,

I'm doing OK. Trying to keep busy. Economy's hard on a working pro right now. First thing businesses want to get cheap on is their photography. "No money to market with right now." So it's tough, but my wife and I are getting by. :) Thank goodness she has a full-time job or we'd be real strapped. I'd prolly have had to stop freelancing were it not for our combined livelihood-ness. How're you? Where you at now?

:)

Troy

p.s.--just to be on-topic now, aw heck, who cares whether or not there's a sub-forum for DMR users? Something IS already set up for DMR users--it just requires one extra step to get to. Not as convenient as just looking at the main page, but there's many things in life that aren't as convenient as I wish they were. :)

Good evening !!!

May I ask DMR users if they would get at present a second hand DMR while waiting for the R10, if any ?

Thanks for your advice

I got a second one last year for this very reason. Need a back-up until a R10 appears.

I held off on a second DMR thinking that a digital R was coming. Should I find a near mint or better condition DMR I will buy one. My DMR continues to give a buzz in digital phototgraphy. My M8 does, sometimes. I do use Nikon D300 with 17 - 55 f2.8 and 24 - 70 f2.8 lenses. It is very good and I am very pleased with the results for my autofocus requirements, but it doesn't give me any buzz , passion or the image quality like the DMR or M8. I also know that the DMR , M8 and lenses will be functioning many years after the Nikon kit has given up.

Has anybody got a mint condition DMR for sale?

regards

Mark

The test has been quite disappointing. Results were very good with macro (60/100) and telephoto lenses (180/280) but rather poor with wide angle lenses (28/PC 28, 19).

The seller was unable to correct such results (DNG, C1 was used) and to give any explanation.

Any idea ?

A test with a DMR? Do you have any samples? Which 19mm, first or second version? What ISO? etc.

It's hard to comment constructively without more information.

I used a 19 first generation on my DNR and it gave fantastic results.

That's the one I have also Andy, and I'm very happy with it. I'm just curious about all the potential variables involved.

Cheers,
