Do you use 1 or 2 bags, I mean, let's say you are going to travel, do you have one bag to bring everything to destination and then use a smaller bag for daily use? Because in most of these posts I see bags with 1 or 2 bodies with a couple of lenses. But imagine you go far and have 4 lenses, a flash unit, spare battery, sd cards, M8 charger! What would you do then? i have 2 one is a brand B for just a body a couple of lenses, bits and pieces the other is a Billingham for extended forays and takes full 35mm kit, its around 15 yrs old and in khaki, so it matches DPM Desert issue uniform, ...you are what you wear Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

It has worked for one camera, three extra lenses, film and light meter. Camera goes in a shoe bag, lenses in socks. Total investment was under $3, but those were pre-Reagan dollars. Unfortunately, B&H doesn't carry this bag any more (and never did). I can pack in it : 1 Leica M8 body + 3 lenses : 21 + 35 + 75 or Noctilux + Apple Macbook + Accessories I use it also to carry an EOS 1D mkII + 2 lenses or an Hasselblad 203 FE + 60-120 zoom. +++ build and materials quality, 3 years old now and as perfect as on the first day. Some of the neighborhoods I pass through are not the best, so I don't want too much obvious "bling"! Let people think it contains utterly boring office paperwork and maybe a lunch. Some of these are pretty loud, but I wouldn't really expect to find a camera in them (which could be good): FREITAG lab. EricC Posted January 2, 2007 Share #92 Posted January 2, 2007 I have used the Domke J803 in ballistic nylon with an Optec Pro strap for about three years now and find it to be an excellent bag for an M and 5 lenses or two M's and 4 lenses plus pockets for tons of other stuff, including a full width back pocket for magazines or papers. The Timbuk2 was a disappointment as it's essentially a large empty bag without compartments, even with padded inserts it never really functioned as desired. I went back to my old Domke when I purchased my 20D. fotografr Posted January 3, 2007 Share #96 Posted January 3, 2007 Well I went overboard of course V/C 15mm 4.5 , leica 24mm 2.8, 35 1.4 asph,50 1.4 asph , 75 f2 apo than on e-bay i picked up a 135 2.8 with the googles. later hoping for a Zeiss 21mm and Maybe a 28 but i will wait til l after the M8 comes. Everything is coded now except the 90 and IR filters for all except the 15mm. Anymore than this and i should be shot and not with a M8. LOL That Nocti is looking good though. I sold my 24mm to Jamie with a IR filter no less. LOL I may get a new one down the road. The DMR stuff is the issue . I may sell my 28,50 and 80 and get a 28-90 and if I do that than i have to get the Nocti or 75 lux to make up for the look of the 80 lux on the R. Still debating this. They are very fast, around 3 days, but the shipping charge is $40 and beware of duty plus VAT ... and Royal Mail's £13 charge for the privilege of taking the duty and VAT from you - even over the 'net. I will probably buy another cotton canvas Domke satchel. I wish I knew how to make these last for 17 years, but I'd be lucky to get 7 years of daily use out of them.
