This originally was a black M8. It was sent to Solms for some custom engraving ("Leica" script on top plate plus owner's name.)

 

It's been updated with cameraleather.com Vulcanette C, and hammertone paint. The shutter speed dial, shutter button and on/off switch were swapped out with chrome parts. Lastly a black Leica dot was added.

 

M8 ala carte. :)

Can you share where you got the camera painted? The hammertone looks like it is a lighter shade compared to the LHSA MP hammertone though.

Looks like it's been left out in acid rain. Hideous to my eyes. The CameraLeather kit application, confirms my decision to let Kelvin, my local camera repair genius, apply the Rollei black leather kit I have waiting for my M8, when it comes back on Wednesday.

Wilson applying a new cover is very easy. Looks like the person that did it on the HammerTone had no hand eye coordination or they broke there glasses just before taking on the job.

As for my opinion on the overall look. I don't like it.
