Archiver Posted April 29, 2012 Share #129 Posted April 29, 2012 Thomas, that looks super. What happened to the engraving on the front of the top plate?
thomasw_ Posted April 30, 2012 Share #130 Posted April 30, 2012 Thomas, that looks super. What happened to the engraving on the front of the top plate? When its black chrome and nickel were stripped off, John used a metal filler to level the engravings on the front plate and then smoothed them flat before beginning the painting. jplomley Posted May 8, 2012 Share #131 Posted May 8, 2012 Just picked up a new in box M4-P and when compared against my M6 Classic have noticed the VF resolution is superior in the M6. I know my left eye requires about -0.5 dioptric adjustment (just have not bothered to get a new specs yet) and in fact this is what the M6 uses as a default (so looking through my M6 gives a sharper view of the world then just looking through my specs alone...ha!)....what does the M4-P use as a default. I suspect the effective diopter correction was zero for this camera.
SteveYork Posted May 9, 2012 Share #132 Posted May 9, 2012 The rangefinder clarity in those old cameras will improve with a cleaning.
Omaroo Posted May 10, 2012 Share #133 Posted May 10, 2012 I've had mine now for several weeks, and have put several rolls of both colour and black & white film through. I'm yet to develop any, but that's only because I want to build up a few so that processing is a little more cost effective. I really love using this camera - and the M8 has a hard time proving its worth over the M4-P when I'm out and about with both. I far prefer the feel of the 4, it's the perfect size and weight. The slimmer body is just nicer in every respect to hold. Frame lines suit the Summicron-C 40mm it usually has on too - more-so than when it's on the M8. Being in the fantastic condition it is, it's a forever keeper. Welcome, dear visitor! Penzes Posted May 21, 2012 Share #137 Posted May 21, 2012 Nice, with a new lens? Where is the Konice lens?
mikemix Posted May 21, 2012 Share #138 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) hihi, hi Istvan The Konica Hexanon-M 35/2.0 is on the Konica Hexar RF I also got. I will test both lenses together some day. The Cron is new and I could change lenses (50/2.5) without losing money. Next weekend I'm staying in Paris. Can't wait. I only have to buy an orange or yellow filter.
