lincoln_m Posted November 17, 2012 Share #361 Posted November 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Colin, Very fine condition for your M2. Is that the latest 35f1.4Asph FLE on the front? Something old, something new. It would really need to be a chrome lens to fit with the fine M2 era, but Leica aren't doing a chrome version yet. Your shot of the camera is beautiful too. Obviously fine photographic equipment in the hands of a craftsman here. Thanks for sharing, Lincoln
Advertisement Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Hi lincoln_m, Take a look here I love my M2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
colint544 Posted November 17, 2012 Share #362 Posted November 17, 2012 Thanks, Lincoln. Yes, it's the 35mm Summilux APH fle. Agree that chrome lenses look better on the chrome cameras.
lincoln_m Posted November 18, 2012 Share #363 Posted November 18, 2012 Please post more pics of your fine M2. Also what film do you use in the M2, B&W? I don't notice the usual scratches from an M meter so I assume you are estimating the exposure with B&W film? Lincoln
colint544 Posted November 18, 2012 Share #364 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) Here's another shot. I currently use a light meter app on my iPhone - it's pretty accurate. I haven't been able to get any Tri-X, so it's been Delta 400. Welcome, dear visitor! wattsy Posted December 24, 2012 Share #368 Posted December 24, 2012 One more of my 1966 lever-wind M2. Sorry Colin if I'm asking the bleedin' obvious but you do know there is a thread protection ring (to use in place of the hood) that comes with the 35 FLE? kivis Posted December 25, 2012 Share #369 Posted December 25, 2012 One more of my 1966 lever-wind M2. What is a "1966 lever-wind M2."?
bill Posted December 25, 2012 Share #370 Posted December 25, 2012 Earlier M2s had a button rewind. What is being referred to is the means by which the advance mechanism is disengaged. SJP Posted December 25, 2012 Share #371 Posted December 25, 2012 he is referring to a film rewind release lever i.s.o. the pushbutton version. The lever one is better obviously Film winding is by lever unless you get a motordrive.
SJP Posted December 25, 2012 Share #372 Posted December 25, 2012 Date is intriguing I have a 1959 lever rewind M2 (in fact an upgraded M1), when did the lever enter the fray?

payasam Posted January 17, 2013 Share #377 Posted January 17, 2013 Yesterday the camera in the photo joined the M6 in my film kit. It had a blue body covering when it arrived but the seller had thoughtfully included the Aki-Asahi "skin" that can be seen. For quite a while starting in the mid 1960s my ideal (but unattainable) kit was an M2 with 35mm and 90mm lenses. I soon found that while those lenses were necessary, I could not get on without a 50mm. Welcome, dear visitor! Jerren Posted February 1, 2013 Share #378 Posted February 1, 2013 Such a lovely camera. Does anyone know why these "I love my Mx" threads aren't stickied?
payasam Posted February 1, 2013 Share #379 Posted February 1, 2013 Could be because they are constantly added to and are adhesive enough without being so declared.
Jerren Posted February 5, 2013 Share #380 Posted February 5, 2013 Could be because they are constantly added to and are adhesive enough without being so declared. Well it certainly encourages me to love my m2 more than the others. lol
