Popular Post spydrxx Posted February 15, 2014 Popular Post Share #421 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Having spent 43 years with my trusty M4, and a brief dalliance with an M6, I sold off most of my Leica gear over a year ago....failing eyesight and finances. Spent the year shooting old Japanese RFs of Barnack design et al, and some micro 4/3. Just kept thinking...those lovely early M bodies. Well then I came across this M2 which had been CLA'd about a year ago...not a beauty queen by any means, but a solid clean user with a bright viewfinder at a most reasonable price. Got a couple of adapters for the screwmount lenses and am back in the fold....the Prodigal Son has returned. Photographed with some other old fossils Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Hi spydrxx, Take a look here I love my M2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jos58 Posted March 2, 2014 Share #422 Posted March 2, 2014 Ahh, fossils, not all of them end up in a museum. I have one as well, in use regularly. You have good taste!
SJP Posted March 2, 2014 Share #423 Posted March 2, 2014 Indeed, but I can only see 3 fossils in the image, the M2 is not IMHO. In fact it lives on and on as one of the ultimate cameras of all time - e.g. via the MP which is basically a clone of the M2. (No offence intended to other M number owners).

Berth Posted March 8, 2014 Share #425 Posted March 8, 2014 It even came with the box. If I had known that I would have snaked that out from under you when I held it in my hands last Saturday to test the Summicron 50mm. Incredible condition for a camera of that generation. That's not just a camera, that's a trophy.
desu Posted March 22, 2014 Share #426 Posted March 22, 2014 Did anyone get their M2 painted black? Does anyone have an idea how much that would cost? My idea would be to get a "poor man's" black paint MP this way but if it's like $1000 or more then it wouldn't make that much economical sense. It's such a shame black paint versions are so rare and expensive. Even more because they were not limited when the M2 was new.
stephan_w Posted March 25, 2014 Share #427 Posted March 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) there is a guy who paint them in France, very nice work, will cost you about 500-600 Euro, plus the camera of course. stunning result. pm me if you are intested
stephan_w Posted March 25, 2014 Share #428 Posted March 25, 2014 the problem with a black paint M2 is that you have to get black painted lenses as well, which can get expensive Welcome, dear visitor! colint544 Posted May 15, 2014 Share #429 Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) Top view of my 1966 M2 (stripped of its original chrome, and repainted by Kanto, Japan). To me, it's a meter-less black paint MP, but with a less cluttered finder, and a slightly more classic look. Welcome, dear visitor! ChrisG Posted June 6, 2014 Share #430 Posted June 6, 2014 Hello to all. Just posting to let all of you know that I will soon be a proud owner of a 1965 Leica M2 with a Summaron f/3,5 lens. This will be my first Leica film camera since I have been a happy owner of a Digilux 1 for a number of years. Now there is a change for you. Should be getting my baby by the 11th and will surely post pictures of her here. Thanks again for creating this wonderful site. Best regards Chris
