So coming from Fujifilm, I was excited to receive my M EV1 and looking forward to downloading images using Leica Looks but when I tried this, I noticed that my camera was not supported.  My question is, can I expect support in the future or is it simply the case the M bodies where never intended to benefit from this feature. Thank you in advance for your comments and replies.

I know that there are people who like the feature but I have never understood the importance attached. These are just a number of presets with a Leica label and the Internet is replete with presets. In the end, I prefer my own, personal, look, not somebody else’s interpretation.

I don't use these styles myself either, but just wanted to add that you can still apply these Leica Looks to photos when downloaded in the FOTOS app; assuming photos are not edited with other apps and you did not configure a JPEG "Film Style" in-camera. It's not as seamless as it would be with a Q3 but at least it's an option if you want to play around with it.

Just my few cents: the looks was actually one of the features that made me decide on the Q3. Obviously not the most important factor, but one nonetheless. Especially in situations like long trips where you don't have access to computers for editing RAWs, or any interest in using them, the looks can come in extremely handy for JPEG shooting. Combined with the crazy speeds of their wireless transfer it's a great pairing. I had the Fuji X100VI for a long time, and while it has custom presets and film simulations, they were never my favorites. I especially never understood the love for the Provia or Astia looks, not to mention Velvia, I think they almost always look off, either way too saturated or just strange to me. Classic Chrome does seem to look better on the GFX100RF though. Maybe my eyes just don't get along with the Fuji simulations :). And I say this as someone who used and enjoyed Fuji cameras for years.

I think Leica did a great job with the looks, especially Chrome and Brass, and I think it's a great addition. I've always felt I'm not great at editing great colors in post, or don't have the patience to play with colors to get a result I'm satisfied with. I have more faith in the people at Leica for this. But to be fair, I did with Fuji as well, but they just don't match my idea of good taste I guess.

I never use  OOC JPG's - I do not see the sense of spending a considerable amount of money on a camera that produces exceptional results and then throwing away more than half the data that I need for optimal processing, which, BTW,  is not playing around but knowing how to apply the processing tools to obtain the desired result.

I shoot DNG only for my main photography.   However, I use DNG+JPG to get the Leica Looks for journaling.  I use (and carry when traveling) a portable printer (instax, selphy), print a "Leica Look" photo at the end of the day, and stick the photo in my journal.  I like the simplicity of the JPG and the "look" for journals.  I am gald Leica offers it for the Q3 43.

You never use OOC jpg because you are old. I didn’t mean an ageism way but you are.

Young punks want to show off the pictures instantly on IG right after they are taken and don’t have time or means to tune the raw files color on a computer

Get a SL3-S and adapt your M lenses to it.

in this way, you get Leica look

If that were the case I would post Daguerreotypes. I shoot Leica and raw because I care about quality and save dross for social sharing for my iPhone, even if that is set to raw as well to process in Snapseed or LR mobile.  If that is old fashioned we have different quality standards.

I understand that view perfectly. I like that I have both options in the Q3. When on my home computer I will edit the RAW files and almost never use the looks, but the standard ooc jpgs are often not quite where I want them, so as previously mentioned, when I'm traveling without the access to a PC or any other raw editor, the JPGs do the job very well. Also, I've been editing RAWs so much for over 15 years now that it often feels like a relief to have a complete and good looking image without having to treat it every time.

The Leica M-EV1 belongs to the M11 family of cameras.

Neither IBIS nor Leica Look can be added to the M-EV1 unless it is part of the M11 family.

You want Leica look, go get a Q or SL.

The true M never has and shall never have the infamous Leica look

It’s inevitable.. it will come sooner to the M.. just like the evf now embedded in M

I did enjoy the Fuji film emulations when I was shooting them - especially Acros.

I’d like it if Leica had actual film stock recipes you could select in camera or at import.

Even with the slower Maestro chip, I would have thought that you could have at least one custom film emulation, perhaps using the Fotos app to select and transfer it to the camera.
