Though interested, a lot even, I will not be a beta-tester. The m11 had enough problems and  I don’t trust it will be without issues with this one. So, I will be patient and see how this model will work in reality.

It seems logical that the firmware is close to identical to that of the M11. It acts as if the Visoflex is permanently attached.

It is not a Q. It offers lens change, no central shutter, etc.

Sigh, I said it's a Q with M mount. M mount means it offers lens changes and that shutter is in the body. For what it is, it's overpriced.

I assume. But still, I will take it very easy before stepping in. There were too many problems with the m11, and they might be mostly solved now, this is still a partial new product with all its risks.

Btw: the only time my m10m froze was while using a visoflex… mmmm.

I guess if you are an ultra conservative manufacturer like Leica changing the colour of your socks might seem innovative.

However this seems to be a case of pure hyperbole

The marketing men have taken over .

At that price point its hard to see the attraction when you can use an SL or a CL

So it counts the seconds until the exposure by a light signal.

According to the manual:

The self-timer LED at the front of
the camera counts down the delay time. It flashes
slowly during the first 10 s, then fast for the last 2 s.

Anyway now more than ever the comparison with something like a a7cr is unkind to Leica. You really have to want that red dot to favor it, considering it just relies on peaking and magnification.

I really thought they had something better in mind to make manual lenses nice to use on a evf camera. If i think about my own experience what made me buy a m10r to complement my film m was how not very nice it is to use manual lenses on my a7c. Now for the same price of the Leica you could buy a a7c ii, the whole voigtlander E mount lineup and have money to spare. Worse menus, yeah. I talk Sony just because i know the system.

I need a moment to recover from my disappointment over the design. 😭

We really are doomed to be stuck with that ugly brightness sensor.

But what we did the revolutionary self timer LED instead.

Both great cameras, but CL has APS-C sensor which makes wideangle shooting with M lenses less attractive, and SL is heavier and larger.

Nobody mentioned the 60 FPS refresh rate for the EVF. That is another insult combined with the 64gb internal memory.

Oh wow, so the EVF doesn't even match Q3, not to mention battery life

I've just read Jono's review and the good news for M11 owners is there is a positive firmware update likely on the way for white balance adjustment. The EV1 has it already, I see no reason that it will not be passed on to the rest of us.

Already got it…

i mean the firmware, not the new M ev

love to see adjustment in the WB

Ugly brightness sensor? What else? You don´t mean, that you expected a CCD sensor, do you.

Skimping on internal memory to save a few euros on a 8k camera really is a late stage capitalism 1000 iq move.

Hey hey, don't forget they also skimped on the ISO dial to save production costs.

It's in the user manual, sorry to disappoint

No disappointment here as the focus aids of the M11 are enough for me, but i was just curious to know what the RF window is about. Thank you for sharing :)

Out of curiosity, are you keeping your pre-order in then?

So its 8 grand for a better visoflex experience. It's a pass from me until there is more innovation in focus assist.

Isn't it the same visoflex experience?

My guess is that it's a toe dip. They'll have done some focus grouping. See if this sells without incredible R&D cost (although it will have cost enough). If it meets expectations or better then there's scope for EVF2 with 9mp viewfinder etc.

I do suspect it will pull in new customers. Just like the Q. And drive lens sales. Unlike the Q!
