And they have benefits such as highly accurate focus with wide lenses [...]

Matter of taste and/or experience i guess. Old discussion ;) Almost all my focusings are made with the EVF from 15mm to 135mm since i have an M11. I prefer the RF mode in low light when digital noise is too strong in the EVF but otherwise the Visoflex 2 sits pretty much all the time on my M11. YMMV.

But my "POV" was just attempted humour in response to @Stef63 comment that this event is reaching intergalactic levels.

Fair point — though it’s hard to miss that some treat the arrival of this camera with truly intergalactic importance, at least within our tiny Leica M universe. Even Leica calls it a landslide or something like that. Hopefully my own attempt at humor wasn’t lost somewhere in deep space ...😉

The advantage of a Visoflex is this. One can remove it if not needed. Plus the Visoflex gets obsoleted sooner than an M, even with the latter's sensor, motherboard and electronics. The Visoflex on my M9 fell apart in less than 2 years.

I hate to carry around a working photo capture device with some parts obsoleted.

I'm fascinated by the desire for something new. Few post have actually discussed its genuine viability as an image creating camera, other than assuming that it might be easier on older eyes.

Because it really won't be anything "new"
Based on the latest rumors, it will be an M11 with a different viewport. Easier to focus (for many), and provides full-time wysiwyg exposure preview.

It will come down to the clarity and speed of the EVF for me to even consider it [at least SL or better], and even if I do, I am unsure why I would want to lose around AU$5k on my M11 to replace it with an M11...  It really has to be an outstanding experience for this to happen, solve all my glasses framing issues and be something I absolutely love.

Surely, the presence of the Red Dot is a presumed guarantee of the 'image creating quality"? Or are you among the "heretics"?
