Visually this looks more like a Q3 with M mount than a M with EVF. So the same viewing experience as in the Q3 - that would be underwhelming…

the leak said "0.5-inch panel, 5.76 million dots, 0.76x magnification, support for focus assist function"

Looks more like an M11 with Q “leather” to me…

They must do more than Leica then surely. Not sure how you could pay the rent and put food on the table providing Leicas to professionals (especially those who walk into your shop).

I think they only sell Leica. They happily sell to the general public but are more geared up to selling to pros. When I collected a Q3, they mistakenly thought my assistant had phoned earlier so thought I was a pro which I am not.

Ivor and Elaine are great to deal with, been selling Leica products for years, very knowledgeable.  If my memory is correct, Ivor was at Classic Camera before setting up Red Dot.  I visit whenever I can, although that’s not so easy if you live in Derbyshire 😳

I’m sure he does most of his business online and that service is excellent.

I agree - an excellent dealer.

MEV1 pre-order done but i still don't know what the RF window is about. My best bet it is a focus aid of sort but i have no idea what it does exacly.

probably a split/overlay of some sort to help with focus, in which case im guessing focus peaking is the 2nd option

Where were you able to pre-order? I can’t see anything in the UK yet.

It is a look at the light of the scene to be able to estimate the f/stop.

M-lenses cannot tell the used f/stop to the camera.

Focus peaking is definitely not a fav of mine; I make sure that it is deactivated on the various SL/Q-bodies I have...

They are a pro dealer and not a normal retail shop.

Incorrect. They are a regular dealer. The website shows what they sell. Walk in and if they have got it they will sell it to you.

The last thing I bought was four rolls of Leica film. The packaging for such a low value item was exemplary and there was no way any of the 'special' film boxes could have been crushed.

Though interested, a lot even, I will not be a beta-tester. The m11 had enough problems and  I don’t trust it will be without issues with this one. So, I will be patient and see how this model will work in reality.

As I said, they are happy to supply the general public and the service is excellent.

If you visit, it is different to most/regular dealers. They also have a messenger delivery service within London for pros.
