Having said that, I am not going, EVF is not for me, sold my X1DII for that reason. In the last two weeks I got very nice deals on the M11-P Safari and the M11 Monochrom which I couldn't resist. I am good for the next 10+ years. I am going but have low expecations.

What makes it possible is scaling the image displayed on the EVF to be the same size as that of the contained within the frame lines of the classic viewfinder i.e. 135mm is very small and 28mm is full panel. tappan Posted 21 hours ago Share #3603 Posted 21 hours ago I have started my preparations in anticipation of tomorrow's announcement of the new, closer focus reissue of the 24mm 'Lux M :-). Last week I started special exercise stretches for my right hand index finger so that my dialing to a Leica dealer will be smooth as silk. I have three alarm clocks telling me what time the announcement will happen. Also, I thought that funding this new Leica lens would be a burden on my bank account so yesterday, shortly after noon, I drove to Boston and robbed a bank. I am all set now. Dr. Kaufman please don't disappoint. Mark 3

Wonderful lens.

That’s the thing about these speculation threads, though normally there are more “leaks”. I’m rather pleased that this announcement still largely rests with Leica. If the announcement is a Q3 43 M, I will sit back with my pop-corn and watch the rage and disappointment with interest!

erl Posted 19 hours ago Share #3612 Posted 19 hours ago Well I can tell you it is already the 23rd here today. So I went into the worlds largest Leica Store, in Melbourne, and bought the new Leica camera. It is an M10 with a phone in it. Simple! 😂🤩😉 Strewth! I left my hat & coat in the shop. Must have left in a hurry.
kiwidad Posted 19 hours ago Share #3613 Posted 19 hours ago It just hilarious! Leica rumours said tomorrow u til today and then show correspondence from Leica sent Monday saying the 22nd! They list the reason for delay they have no real evidence of as tariffs and govt shutdown in top 2 and fcc licensing for the new device. Leica would have had this device approved long before it went into production! so should I summarize what is known? NOTHING! it’s been a fun ride nowhere so far 🙂

IkarusJohn Posted 18 hours ago Share #3615 Posted 18 hours ago So, it’s 23 October, down here at least it’s coming up for 1300hrs. The first actual confirmation from the Leica mothership that this camera is about to break cover. costa43 Posted 17 hours ago Author Share #3618 Posted 17 hours ago Interesting, it seems that the M-EV1 name was accurate. Leica have decided to not link it to the main model line, probably a smart move even if it doesn’t slip off the tongue as smoothly as M11-V or M-V. That aside, I’m very excited to see this camera finally!

DadDadDaddyo Posted 16 hours ago Share #3620 Posted 16 hours ago M-EV1 ? Makes it sound as if Leica is going into competition with Tesla.... But seriously, it's interesting and all, but I just want that Visoflex 3 with the upgraded screen. As I've commented before: it's a heck of a lot easier to put an auxiliary electronic viewfinder onto a camera with coupled rangefinder than it is to put an auxiliary coupled rangefinder onto a camera with electronic viewfinder.
