Now of course the question is how much of the 1200 gets passed on to US buyers? Edited April 2 by algrove

I regard AI generated stuff as highly suspicious. To start with IBIS does not move a lens as this particular bit of nonsense tells us. Absolutely. The reasoning models (the ones which check their first answer and assess it for accuracy) tend to do better, at least much better than your average forum user for factual information, but that's not saying much. As always though, sources need to be checked by the end user no matter where they come from - including academic journals. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of the global population has no idea how to do this. The hope with smarter AI systems is that one day they will be able to do most of the heavy lifting for us in terms of cross-referencing sources and ensuring the most up-to-date literature on the topic is weighted more than a journal from 15 years ago. At the moment, the AI struggles to differentiate between the reliability of information it's obtained from a reddit or an l-camera-forum post back in 2009 versus info obtained from a peer-reviewed journal from 2023.
jaapv Posted April 3 Share #1328 Posted April 3 Quite. It will be a long time before AI will be able to filter the vast amount of data that it gathers on things like veracity and relevance. A human can mostly do so easily. -at least some humans can. Unfortunately too many perform no better than the machine.
lct Posted April 3 Share #1329 Posted April 3 Yes, at least in my field (law), AI is just a commonplaces collector. It can be useful for answering simple questions, but it's still all too easy to fool it on complicated ones. In any case, quoting AI as a source is not the best thing to do in serious matters IMHO. The worst being to parrot its answers without disclosing it is AI.

Absorbing all or part of the tax will give Trump a win and nobody outside the US wants Trump to win, so sadly for US consumers they will pay the price. Also, any counter action from the EU will be coordinated so do not rule out further escalation. This is what 77 million people in the US voted for - it’s called the democratic will of the people.

The only thing boss about the 03 May event is that it’s on a Saturday (and night, according to my invite). Not that Leica wouldn’t make an exception for a 100 year event, but it’s far different than their usual launch dates during the week. My guess is that IF there’s a new camera, it hasn’t been given to the usual YouTubers to prevent leaks. They have done this before, which I think is smart. For such a product does it really matter if the pre-order link is there moment of launch or a day after?

Maybe they are all going to get hammered and hit the dance floor! Or better yet, maybe we will see this thing released sooner rather than later.
