Only so many multi-millionaire/billionaire collectors to sell special editions to. But it is quick cash to pander to the collectors market. Thing is, just how 'collectible' is an odd city branded M11 compared to say an original black paint M3? My guess would be not very collectible at all. I would actually pay less for one that had my home town on the top plate. My preference would be for the classic 'Made in Germany'.
la1402 Posted January 23 Share #44 Posted January 23 After a nights sleep, I am actually very, very annoyed about this way of celebrating 100 years. A very slightly redesigned, 3 year old camera and 600 USD Teddy Bears? Seriously, Leica?? 5

The bear has a significant number of changes that are not noticeable, they are hidden under the hood (improved hardware and firmware). Help from Panasonic came in handy. 😂 Edited January 23 by Smogg

Will batteries be available at Leica 200? don't really want to use harsh words, but have no choice... it is a discriminatory move by leica...my city is excluded...shame
jpark114 Posted January 23 Share #49 Posted January 23 The way its designed, I can't stop suspecting that Leica is only trying to get rid of M11 stocks. I'm not keen on all these limited edition stuffs, but at least bring 100 one in a real limited sense, like a different color/coating/texture etc.

phojomatic Posted January 24 Share #53 Posted January 24 I get the cities they chose were for luxury status, but in a 100 year look back, you might think Solms, or Porto or Canada would get a mention on something, like a lumberjack bear or a sardine fisherman bear maybe. 2

Like the LHSA MP3 for example. But let‘s see I am open for any surprise…

Perhaps they have way too many excess parts that they cobbled together for this model such as 64GB internal memory.
