And here are this year's entries for the Night Challenge.

Same rules apply as for the Day Challenge.

As in previous years, please vote for your top three images. (It goes without saying that one should not vote for one's own entry, and while this is an anonymous competition, inadvertently voting for a family member, if they also entered, is acceptable of course). Please note that there are 25 entries this year. Anyone voting for fewer than three photographs will not have their votes counted.

For your FIRST choice, 3 points will be awarded, for the SECOND choice, 2 points, and for your THIRD choice, 1 point.

For the avoidance of doubt, please make it absolutely clear when voting. For example-

3 points - Shot 76

2 points - Shot 34

1 point - Shot 98

The shot with the most points at the close of the voting will be declared the winner. Should there be a tie, the number of "3 point" votes will be counted and the one with the most, will win. Still a tie? The number of "2 point" votes, and so on.

The winning photographer will receive the huge amount of kudos that winning the Challenge always brings, but there is no prize fund for the Night Challenge.

Voting will close at 22:00 (UCT) on 17th November 2024, and the winner will be announced shortly afterwards.

Please record your votes in this thread.

Thank you and good luck to everyone that entered!

3 points: 7 The Three Devils, right out of life.

2 points: 3 Leica By Night, nice idea, apparently requires very good body control of the model and a tripod or a very, very steady hand

1 point: 6 Mr Tasmania, a straight good portrait with good tonal control.

Thanks to everyone who took the night shift as well, the results are always worth seeing and off the beaten path.
