I tried and tried to convince them -  but don’t wait, as far as I can see it is not coming!

At least the brass version, this gives the biggest upset, been holding on to since early M10D, hoping the predecessor would at least as good if not better to my book 🥲

The black paint on brass is a separate model. Perhaps they don't want to steal its thunder.

Personally, I think the Reporter Edition should be based on the D model.

This would create the biggest stir in leica anniversary year, since even the green finish looking M analogue is at its rarest

Ok, the M11-D is here and it’s more or less the expected model addition to the M11 range.

But what about the 70th anniversary of the M camera? Wouldn't it be great to see Leica doing something around the  M11-D, chromed brass, monochrome sensor? This sort of thing. 😎

The 70th Anniversary model should be M11 D with black Paint on brass, no connection to an external screen or hot shoe EVF, DNG only, 60mp only.

Bring back the ISO wheel on the Non-D M11 and use it only to select either BW or Color embedded preview when the DNG's are imported to either LR or Capture One.

A very nice touch would be a shutter cocking lever that works as intended along with the traditional shutter release button. User choice

Limited to 700 copies worldwide - 10 for each year

Some nice ideas but sadly none will happen 🙁 too many changes to the machined parts.

You would expect Leica to do something special for the 70th and maybe that will be film related.  Shame that Steven remains banned as he would probably know.

And have some fake door latches on the back, with the ASA-wheeel in the middle. . . 🙃

The confusion stems from the fact that the M11-D is being described by Leica as Black Paint in terms of finish. It's just not the type of Black Paint we are looking for. I guess this is the new black finish on aluminum body.

Rumor has it that the 70th anniversary model will be an analog M. So no playing around with the M11-D for now.

There may be an issue with pairing traditional black enamel paint with the new aluminum body.

If only there was an alternative material other than aluminum they could have used for the camera 😜.
