I meant that the update didn't work despite I reset the camera. If I make the reset the camera ask me if I want to keep the user profiles and then it launches the reset normally. 
Something that I noticed that didn't work is the connection with the App Leica Fotos, there's only a WLAN option and if I try to click on it there's no pairing with my phone. that's why I wanted to update the firmware.
Also there's the GPS option which is also greyed out..
A part from that the camera works normally, when I bought it I didn't realise that the firmware wasn't the right one

Unfortunately it is no longer on the Leica website and I don‘t know any other link. 

So it seems there is no other way than asking the shop you bought it to reveal the mysteries of your camera‘s firmware.

Unfortunately I live in West Africa and until July I won't be back to Europe, I won't be able to let you know the end of the mystery before then.

This is crazy. Contact Leica CS, there is something totally weird going on here,. In any case Leica should be able to install the proper firmare.

As far as "it can't be done" to install the wrong firmware - maybe for normal users, but Leica has done it. See:

Oh Leica can do it. I watched it being done years ago. They have those nifty docks and install from scratch. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we can’t have one of those.

Leica once sent me a X2 firmware that was no longer on their website. So you could ask them to email a later firmware version.  They can only say no

This is a job for Leica I think. There is a software solution that forces a firmware upgrade by USB cable, but we dont have access to it.

I sent it back to Leica and now works correctly.
