allow the nipple (aka joystick) center press to center the AF box

that is reserved for magnification, exposure lock, back bottom focus and activate AFs when in AFc

you can use another costume bottom to center the  focus field

Many people were asking for a center focus point that does not move, in vain!

For me it would make much sense to have the box move around with the joystick and return home with a press

AT LEAST implement a 4:3 crop for video...
It should be so easy to have a 4:3 video mode (or 5:3 or 6:5)... (not a full sensor readout, just taller and narrower than the 16:9... (or even just aps-c/s35 sized))
With Leica colors it would be a delight to film anamorphic... (anamorphic desqueeze would just be the cherry on top)
While we are at it... maybe anamorphic stabilization mode like the Panasonics have...

The look v style dichotomy is very confusing.
When I go into the jpeg settings I can’t switch off the looks and select a standard style, eg. On the main back screen I can press the look and switch to standard / vivid / natural style as well as the various looks.

Connection to my iPhone for gps is unreliable. Even connecting from the app can be flakey: both ends try to establish a WiFi connection and then can’t join. No idea why.

AF remains unreliable for moving subjects. The boxes detect people ok, but sometimes every other pic at 4fps is blurry.  (Similarly, beta animal mode detects dogs surprisingly well, with boxes, but doesn’t then focus on the right part of the animal.)

Good points. Are you in house when using iPhone GPS?  Mine works much better when outside.

Allow in camera “post processing” of DNG to apply film styles or Leica Looks and create a new/duplicate JPEG. Trivial and maybe unnecessary but I’d like access to the high contrast B&W style after shooting.  The Ricoh GR has this and it makes mobile editing pretty simple.

Change the ISO behaviour back to what it was on the SL2.

Monochrome DNG mode.

Make the rear dial customisable like SL2

Allow all options for quick menu.

Sorry, I don't understand, what do you mean "Change the ISO behaviour back to what it was on the SL2"?

BTW, I like your other items...

Thanks!

Brad

please stopp this annoying message EVERY TIME we're using the "old" battery BP-SCL4 - just one time when inserting this battery

That's called sales strategy - after 100 times seeing the massage  you throw the "old" 4 away and buy a 6. It' like in youtube ... you must build a ad-blocker for the SL3. Oh no, than the insert comes "please shut down your ad-blocker" or pay 2,99 Euro/month withourt advertising :)

Overall I really love my SL3 and whilst it’s not that long since launch day my list is as follows at the moment:

1. 4fps 14 bit when in AFc and tracking is a joke in 2024, needs to be 10fps.
2. Focus stacking.
3. ProRes only at 1080 - what were they thinking, an iPhone does better.
4. Improve the AF and add in more subject types.
5. Bring all the menu’s inline I.e. Q3 and M11 series.

1. Unfortunately that is the limit of the sensor they chose, not software.

You'll need a stacked or lower-resolution sensor for that.  Even Sony cannot do more than 7 fps in lossless raw mode

On the other hand, I do not think we need 14-bit for high-fps shooting; 12-bit should be enough. Sony shoots 7 fps and Leica 5 fps. That is not a big difference. Sony is able to reach 10 fps by using lossy compressed raw or JPEGs.

Yes I agree - I was referring to how Sony had achieved 10fps with the sensor so that should be achievable and the target for a firmware update :)

In face detection make an option to remove the eye boxes.

So that I can see the face and the eyes when shooting

Yea. Just like others, small box on single eye will do, joystick to choose another. I hope add close shutter when change lens too.

Why bother with ProRes at all? It's not technically any better than other All-I formats in this application. Let's hope Leica isn't paying an outrageous Apple tax for this.

BlackMagic raw would be a much better choice.
