yaominator Posted February 23, 2024 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) hey guys! please help me pull the trigger, came into some money and would like to buy a camera. There's two available locally in my area, an M typ246, and an MP black paint. which would you choose? I primarily shoot film with an M3 and I love it! was wondering if I'd get a second body and enjoy brassing the black paint, or, try go digital and see what the fuss is about the monochrom. Also as a follow up question, is the typ 246 still a good buy this 2024? since the tech is almost 10 years old. Thanks for the help!

jakontil Posted February 23, 2024 Share #2 Posted February 23, 2024 Im sure the m246 is stil capable in 2024 but if i may suggest, M10M is to go due to its ergonomic leads to better experience but solely my own opinion And, i’d go with MP black paint otherwise

Trust me on this one. yeah... the m10m currently is still out of budget, so if this is really the way to go, ill try to hold up until i get the money for one
TomB_tx Posted February 23, 2024 Share #4 Posted February 23, 2024 If you are developing GAS... plan on one of everything.
Luke_Miller Posted February 23, 2024 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2024 The M240 is a fine camera even by today's standard. It is what I use even though I can afford the latest models. Yes they are "better" but, in my case, the M240 is good enough.
yaominator Posted February 23, 2024 Author Share #6 Posted February 23, 2024 Investment wise, is the 246 still good to buy? Or will ot depreciate into nothingness?
kivis Posted April 8, 2024 Share #7 Posted April 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) digital or film? M10 in my book.
earleygallery Posted May 2, 2024 Share #8 Posted May 2, 2024 Neither. Use the money to pay for more film/processing and take your M3 on a few trips.
