Clickbait. This has been covered so many times on this forum alone that it now merits a cheap and tacky t-shirt sold in Times Square or Piccadilly Circus. Unless Leica have bought a new version of the sensor they use in the Q3, it’s not going to happen.

You were also very firm in your thoughts that the Q43 wouldn’t happen, but it did.

I just bought a new (showroom item) q2m from my dealer for a great price, so I won’t be upgrading, but it will be nice to see that the monochrom series will be here in the future as well.

If you could be bothered to read what I said, it was that Leica would need a new version of the sensor, without Bayer array, and with micro lenses to make it work.

Again, you seem to have reading difficulties when it comes to the Q3 43. I said I didn’t think it was a good business idea for multiple reasons. Not that they wouldn’t make it.

Maybe you should try to read more slowly so you have a comprehensive understanding of what is being written.

I perfectly understood what you wrote: “it will not happen”. You were wrong and can still not accept that, even after buying the Q43. Funny.

Maybe you had difficulties with this sentence. “Unless” is an important qualifier.

Guys… what are we, 7?

Of far more interest is how this camera will actually perform and if that be enough of a draw over the Q3 or Q2M for many.

Although the word ‘monochrom’ is frankly enough to peak my interest, I’m not sure if a Q3M will be quite different enough a proposition from what I have already.

Hey, I bought the M11M this year and the images I am able to take was not imaginable before. I know how to produce good bw images from color sensors, but the details that the camera gave me are just outstanding. As I own a Q3, I will not go the Q3M way. I will wait until these cameras drop in price. I can enjoy the M11M and dream of the rest.

so from Sardinia cheers

Not exactly, because the M11M sensor does not have micro-lenses needed for autofocus.

Who knows, it can be resolved on software level. As no need to use CPU for colors analyzing/adjustment, that power can be used for AI autofocus. Some new, custom chip might be less expensive than new sensor.

As a predominantly B&W photographer I would definitely go for a Q3 Monochrom,  and if Leica produced a Q3 43 Monochrom version, I would be happier.  I would pair that camera with my Q2 Monochrom

That sounds like Q4 or Q5.
