I have Q2 and Sl2-s.  Love both, but am selling the Q as it's redundant in my collection and is picking up dust.

SL2-s with Apo lenses is marvelous, and does balance very nicely, but it does get heavy for me when carrying all day long, especially if you have another one in a bag.

SL2-S with Sigma i series or Panasonic lenses is much lighter and I can probably go all day like this.  the IQ out of these Sigma and Panasonic lenses is nothing to complain about.

The Q you can carry around all day, and carry it around with your existing M and you probably won't be too bothered.

Good luck with your decision.  The only thing is that you will likely never be content once you get one, as you will have FOMO about the other...

For portraits the SL2-S is overall the better camera, especially because you can change lenses. The APOs are sometimes too sharp for that, even though I took plenty of nice shots with the APO 90mm.

But for walking around 6-8 hours, I wouldn't carry the SL2 + APO, it's a pain. The Q3 is lighter and more svelte. Alternatively you can take out the SL2 with a M lens or with one of the smaller Sigmas, in that case it's much more manageable.

If it’s flash street definitely the q3+ speedlight.

actually I am only using the q3 (before the q2) for streetphotography 

But I could ask other people to lend me their only camera and then be able to choose even more.

I found sl2-s mint condition for very good price. I think I gonna try it and see myself that I will deal with its weight or not. Even I want to buy Leica Q3 only pre-order option is available for now as much as I saw from Leica and other websites.

Do you mind sharing what that "very good price" might be? I am just curious since I would possibly looking to buy an used SL2-S, too.

I am in Athens right now but I am looking options from eBay, fredmiranda and sometimes from Facebook sale pages. As much as I saw, around 3500 dollar sl2-s can be found as mint condition. Delivery to here, without problem.

Different cameras

I've brought both skiing with me and use Q3 up to 50mm and SL2S for 70-300mm

Probably could have managed with Q3 only or SL2S and 24-105mm as not used the long end of the bigger zoom much

Did you or usually do you have any problem about weight of sl2-s and lenses?

I have graduated towards the lighter Panasonic lenses as for my use they are more than good enough and so why use heavier ones?

I came to the SL2 and then SL2S from the smaller or larger Panasonic bodies as the ergonomics and actual use experience so much better and for me well worth the premium.

An SL3 the size of The Panasonic S5 would be the ‘pups’ but I’m very very happy with the SL2S.

The SL2S and 70-300 plus Q3 or 20-60 in my think tank urban sling 10l absolutely fine on the slopes weight and access wise but a bit bulky.

The Q3 in Peak Design 3l everyday just perfect especially in shitty conditions.

That would work for everything except shallow DOF photography and extreme prints.

Its better to get hasselblad x2d or fujifilm gfx100s and take a fish-eye lens and crop images as much as you want 😃

Err, no. That has been thoroughly debunked time and time again. At the same distance a crop and a longer focal length have an identical perspective. Perspective is solely determined by subject distance in the optical axis, not by focal length.

I took the Q3 and my SL2-S with the 50 Lux-SL and a Voigtlander 40 1.2 on a recent trip I had to a culinary event.  The Q3 was great.  I shot most scenes with people in it with the camera in the 50mm crop mode (see @jaapv’s comment above for why). In fact I think I used the 50mm crop mode most of the time.  I would still grab a 40-50mm Q bodied camera if it were released to get full resolution at that focal length, which is where I prefer to shoot.  I will say, though, that there was a big difference to my eyes when using my SL2-S with the 50 Lux or the CV 40 as compared to the Q3.  Part of that has to do with shooting at 1.4 or 1.2 rather than a 50mm crop equivalent of 3.1 or so on the Q3, but the the Lux just renders beautifully and the color science of the SL2-S is different than the Q3.  For low light the SL2-S is way ahead of the Q3, even with the new sensor.  But at the end of the day, I could have shot the whole event with the Q3 and had no complaints.  Plus, Q3 is significantly lighter and smaller than the SL2-S with the 50 Lux.  If I was much faster with manual focus the Voigtlander would be great, but I was doing a lot of quick portraits and I’m not good enough to make that my main setup.

Thank you very much for your comment. That's what I wanted to hear from user experience. Same as you, I like 28mm for street but my lovely focal length is 50mm. I can of course crop to 50mm with q3 but I feel that I can't take full advantage of that focal length with 3.1 aperture. And as you said, on paper q3 at 50mm and regular 50mm must be same but I tried it before and got different results, different taste I mean. Now I am sure that it was also because of rendering, color science and sensor difference. It was my concern when I was thinking of buying Leica q3. Maybe psycologically I am afraid to say myself that 'oh man I wished I had aperture lower than f3.1 right now'. 

And I know myself, eventually I will end up buying these two cameras and test it by myself  I never can make a choice easily in my life.

Maybe wait a bit for SL3 in March/April? There is some hear-say that SL3 will be smaller and lighter than SL2.
