12504 hood spinning like crazy

Sorry to keep posting about this lens..

 

Just got a freshly CLA’d v3 35 by YYE and I’m blown away at the condition. Looks like it’s never been used and the 12504 hood looks brand new as well. Only issue is that it spins LIKE CRAZY. Like you adjust the aperture and it rotates 180 degrees. Move your wrist slightly and it moves. It’s not gonna fall off but it’s quite obnoxious.

 

I’ve had this lens/hood combo before and it was never ever this bad. Is there a fix or should I accept the dude’s offer to send the hood back for $100 refund?

Had you tried the rubber band trick ?

Another trick is applying on the two prongs of the hood many thick layers of nail polish.

just put a adhesive tape where the hood and the len touches and the attachment will be firmer
